I'm surprised they were so keen to take part on here

They haven't replied to any emails, and my support account in their Zendesk system seems to have become invalid in the last 2 days

Oh, and the password reminder for the account itself doesn't produce anything either

What I wanted to ask them was how to use an account on another device. I had Yuilop and upgraded to Upptalk. The account was started on a tablet, but its screen is now damaged. So I want to use the account on an Android phone.

As an additional potential complication, the phone number I used to originally sign up no longer exists, as I ported another number to that SIM card.

I could presumably start again with a new account, but that would lose the credit so far

Does anyone here have any helpful suggestions? Thanks

I did manage to get a password reminder on about the 6th or 7th attempt, and set up the account on the newer phone.

There are still a couple of things outstanding, and it is sometimes painfully slow getting responses from their support team. One follow-up response took only 7 minutes, but yesterday they could not find my account. I gave more info, but nothing today.

It should be potentially quite useful, but if it takes over a week to get sorted out on changing phone some people will lose patience

I installed this on an android but can't receive calls on it. Can I set it up to receive calls? Have put my own phone number into the account which says: "Connect (on Facebook) and verify (my email address) to be found and to talk unlimited". Will either of these steps enable me to receive calls?

    Thanks

I found there was some glitch for a part of the day, incoming and outgoing calls not working, so I wonder if you're ok now.

If it's still out, I'd suggest contacting their support team.

had plenty of video ads and Flurry credit offers when I joined few days ago and earned 330 credits. Now they have both dried up.
Making calls is okay most of the time. May be it needs a good wi-fi connection!

They just abolished free UK landline calls.

Now cost 1 unit per minute, which I vaguely think is double what they were before becoming free.

Barely worth bothering now, especially compared to just buying credit on other VoIP brands at a quarter of a penny a minute to UK landlines

After a few weeks of using Upptalk, I find that making calls can be troublesome. Calls often get cut off, even when sitting close to the wi-fi router. Can be a bit embarassing!

The thought of making free calls is always attarctive but like 'redux' pointed out "Barely worth bothering now, especially compared to just buying credit on other VoIP brands at a quarter of a penny a minute to UK landlines".

I came across a few more that operate along the same lines.
    KakaoTalk, magicApp, TextMe and Tango

Do they all offer free calls to UK landlines (Like UppTalk did until very recently) ?

Other than Upptalk, I have used only TextMe. Not sure if they do.
But earning credits by watching ads is easy. I usually do something else while the ad is running.
TextMe seem to give more credits than UppTalk and less troublesome.

Freebies like these are fun but for reliable service I use apps from the likes of Localphone.
Many ways of making calls too. Calls are dead cheap; like 'redux' said.
