2 leads if you want to be able to use extra functionality.0

Although she didn't specify, I suspect she's referring to the basic multiscreen Digibox, which has only one input and no Hard Drive.0

I realise that but it is madness to install multiscreen without at least getting the 2 cables fitted and primed, regardless of the box.0

Perhaps that's so but, as the OP wasn't aware that the second box needs a signal from satellite through a dish, maybe getting too technical is to be avoided in this thread?superbigal36 wrote: »I realise that but it is madness to install multiscreen without at least getting the 2 cables fitted and primed, regardless of the box.0 -
Sorry to highjack slightly - my dish/house is kitted out for multi-room (2 cables going into the dish) but I'm currently on a single box contract. If I move to a multi-room contract could I save money by buying the box second hand instead of through Sky and putting the viewing card Sky give me into it? Would that work okay?2016 diet challenge 16lbs/42lbs lost

You can but only negotiate. However the "little" no recording box that only takes up 1 cable is free anyway.
If you only have 1 cable to your main box your facilities must be basic. Taking up the multiroom officially is the way to get a full upgrade for your house.
Get Sky to wire 2 cables to each area in question.
Buy a couple of Sky+HD boxes on ebay.
When I got my latest multiroom I asked for a 2Tb box instead of the "little" box. Managed to get them down to £49.
Getting my house totally reconfigured was well worth the £60 engineers charge anyway.
As to the discount you ask about on the other thread.
You should be targeting paying £2.50 a month for a year on a new multiroom.0 -

As far as I am aware currently this option is only available to previous multiroom customers who have cancelled their second box and have the relevant mailshot on their account. There is the possibility retentions team have a similar offer, could be worth a try.
Offers for general upgrades at the moment seemed to have halted quite a bit since xmas.0
