Perhaps the op means once they've taken off their living expenses they have a low income, conflating disposable income and income?

If the op is paying the equivalent CSA amount based on his income, then his gross income is £45k. If his gross income is less than £45k then he is paying more than he would be assessed by the CSA.

£45k gross equals approx £635 a week net, subject to pension contributions. That would produce an assessment of £127 a week without shared care and £90.71 a week with 2-3 nights a week s/c. Those fit the ops monthly payments of approx £400 and £550 a month.

I doubt very much that your ex will be denying you access to the kids. The fact that she has every weekend free is not something that she is going to give up.

I agree to be honest. My ex was the same stopping me seeing my son over the weekends. All because I had moved in with a new partner some year or so after breaking up. She stopped me one weekend and then said she couldn't take not having spare time for herself.
