If the postman stole the prize surely they would simply have not delivered it rather than leave the ripped envelope and note as evidence! It seems strange that the envelope was delivered ripped. I had something delivered that was damaged, the eBay seller didn't package it properly, and it was in a Royal Mail bag like BlueBella described.

Was it sticking out of your letterbox on the outside? In which case someone else could have taken it, though I still don't know why they'd leave the envelope.

I would contact Royal Mail with your concerns because it was not safely delivered and the contents have been lost at some point but I would not accuse the postman without proof.

I just got a pink envelope in my letter box, it was ripped open, inside is a note from super savvy me congratulating me on winning a runners up prize from a Christmas comp.
I've had a look and it seems the runners up prize was a 4-pack of AA batteries, not the best prize in the world but they were mine and the stupid thieving postman has nicked them

Anyone else had their prizes pinched before??

bet you wouldn't dare say that to his face

I agree with others, it's wrong to assume it was the postman when there may be another explanation

On the other hand, if the postman turns up on Monday with lashes that look decidedly thicker, fuller and longer..........

    As the above.

Without getting too much into a slanging match with the OP over their 'choice phrases', if they have any concerns with their mail, then they should either contact RM on 08457 740 740 or fill out their form here https://royalmailemailform.datasquirt.co.uk/ContactUs.aspx.

If however, they're absolutely convinced it's the postie nicking their mail, what with that substantial amount of proof and all that *rolleyes* they can fill this out http://www.royalmail.com/sites/default/files/MailCollect_Application_Feb12.pdf and come to the delivery office to collect their mail.
Golly, I've got the newt pregnant...

As it was a pink little packet with something small, firm and long inside, your postie might have thought it was a bullet vibrator! They are about the same size and shape as a mascara!!!! Just a thought!? :)ro-160pink.jpg

being a Postman myself , id have to say that Renegadia is spot on.

If you THINK postman has nicked prize call Royal Mail . And they will investigate .
I deliver many Letters with rips but if letter is that bad , then management get informed before i deliver and it goes into a special plastic bag which i then deliver to customer ....

The question in my mind is, was the posties bicycle lights working before he posted the empty package?

I'm surprised no one else picked up on this :)
