Prize been stolen by postman :(

Options
I just got a pink envelope in my letter box, it was ripped open, inside is a note from super savvy me congratulating me on winning a runners up prize from a Christmas comp.
I've had a look and it seems the runners up prize was a 4-pack of AA batteries, not the best prize in the world but they were mine and the stupid thieving postman has nicked them

Anyone else had their prizes pinched before??

And how exactly do you know the postman has 'stolen' your prize?

If it was the postie who had stolen it, why would he/she put the empty envelope through your door?

It's more likely that the envelope got damaged in the sorting machinery and the batteries dropped out.

I had a ripped envelope put in my door a few weeks ago - just had a congrats card from the prize giver - my prize was a bracelet. The ripped envelope had been put into a clear bag from the Royal Mail - I contacted the prize giver and explained what had happened and even took a photo of the Royal Mail bag with my ripped envelope. Luckily they sent me another bracelet. If it was ripped before or during being sorted at your Royal mail's office I think it would have been put in a marked Royal mail bag like mine was? I still wouldn't blame your postie though - esp if you have no proof.

I got a pink envelope and the same letter. My prize was still in the envelope and is a Max Factor False Lash Effect mascara.

Sorry if this makes it worse but it was more likely to have been a Max Factor mascara, a few of us have received them today in the envelope you describe.

Yes, I received one of those from Savvy today - the envelope wasn't paper - it was a pink plastic so quite securely sealed?

Ooof I think that was a bit harsh, what happened to innocent until proven guilty ;)

It may be a good thing that the postman of this forum has us all blocked at the moment, I wouldn't like to be on the end of that tongue lashing...

I agree - I did state in my post : I still wouldn't blame your postie though - esp if you have no proof.

It could have happened anytime between being collected from the post box or office to entering your letterbox!
