Driving in France, easy but make sure you obey the rles, reflective waistcoat by the driver at all times, car, driver and insurance documents at hand etc.

That's true...I went to Bruges a couple of years back and it was fab, shame the strong gales on the the crossing meaning delays but still a good day had :j

Glad you got a bargain and as PP says it is one long road, the A16/E40, toll free all the way. The only slightly tricky bit is getting on to the A16 near the port. On the exit road from the port you won't see any signs for Brugges, as the French call it, so you need to follow the signs for Dunkerque/Lille to join the A16. Once on the A16 Bruxelles (Brussels) appears on the signs and later on Brugge will show too.

Thanks. I have no idea if I'll find the hotel once in Bruges but I'm sure I'll manage eventually!0
