New viewing card in old Sky box?

Hi all,

My partner is due to give her 30 days notice to Sky today. I'm thinking about signing up in my name to get the £115 cashback and 25% off for 12 months offer.

We currently have a 2TB box which is only a month old and wish to keep it. Once Sky gets installed again, can I remove the new box and use our 2TB one again? Is it just a case of swapping viewing cards over? Or is there more to it than that?

Thanks
This thread has me so pumped, I headbutted my dog and we both screamed.

  • Surely if you have only had a 2tb box for a month their may still be 11 months of a contract too go. Getting them on the cheap often means a new term.
That is unless you paid full price for it.

If your theory goes through then you have to get sky to pair the viewing card with the box.
No problem there unless the box is flagged for any reason.

We bought the box outright for £99, got them down from £150 I think as they had messed our bill up. After selling the old box it only set us back £60 or so in the end.

Will probably go ahead with it then, thanks for the reply.

  • The offer I recently (And others) got for reconnecting was £100 credit and 75% discount. (Offer was for any tv package I wanted so in theory could have meant Sky paying me to have the Tv for a year)
May be a better and safer option to cancel and wait.

How did you get this offer i.e what were the terms? Is it likely to be repeated?
