in Credit cards
I have a Luma credit card and a capital one credit card, which are both ran by capital one.
The Luma is a cashback card and I'm going to close the cap one card.
Just wondering if anyone thinks capital one would be likely to add the cap one card limit to my luma limit, effectively 'consolidating' the two cards into one.
I haven't yet spoken to cap one as I won't be paying the cards off in full til the 1st of the month.
Thanks in advance!

Not sure about Capital One - they may administer the Luma card but it might still count as a separate product. A bit like HSBC and First Direct being part of the same company.
Some card issuers will allow this - I know for certain that Amex sets you up with a customer line of credit when you have more than one of their credit cards. They will allow you to move the limits freely between cards.0 -
No Cap one run the card for Luma but the risk is Lumas.
They won't combine.
I think barclaycard will do it, and I did it with Santander.0 -
So in general it would work, but not in this case as Luma and Capital One are separate companies (a fact I was ignorant to).
Thanks!What will your verse be?

i understand that you won't ever be able to 'merge' Luma and CapOne accounts. infact, ime getting CapOne to show any flex at all is very difficult.
i have managed to get MBNA and Barclaycard to merge various limits over the years, sometimes requiring a lot of persuasion.0 -
You can't merge them but Cap One may increase your limit a while after you close the Luma.0

It's the other way around; I'll be closing the Cap1 and keeping the Luma. I have a higher limit with the Luma and it pays cashback.
I actually read that £1,500 is the highest limit for the card I have with Luma, so they won't increase it.What will your verse be?
