Yep ... it's going to be really something
I've been playing with my Open Source artware - like Photoshop but freethe guy whose books I read about writing for kindle had a youtube video about the comic book software, and I got sucked in
I'll stop, because there's no way I'm going to do that now, but the possibility is there.
I'm off to the postbox ... thank you all :kisses3: like Ed was saying, the support on here is invaluable.Save2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Excited? Just a bit :j:j:j:j:j:j:j

:snow_laug:snow_laug:snow_laug:snow_laug:snow_laug:snow_laug as in "all my Christmasses have come at once" :rotfl:Save
Oh, please don't mention the 'C' word so early in the year:rotfl:
Although, speaking of which, it must be so exciting to be able to count down to the big day in 'sleeps' rather than months:j0 -
It's only the metaphorical Christmas, don't worry, CBC
though I confess, I've already had a "where-are-you-for-Christmas" conversation! I haven't been able to make it to my mum's for two years now, so I've confirmed I'll be travelling up there early, and leaving there late ...
Good mood has been shattered by a maintenance bill for the French apartment for over a thousand eurosand the confirmation of my revelation earlier in the year about NHS dentistry these days. I've let myself be duped by their price machinations between NHS and private dentistry offered by the same people, because I really need a hygienist appointment before my holiday, but I'll be working harder at that in future. Very, very unimpressed.
Plus just seen the statement for my Nationwide ISA - 0.5% interest! Bleep! There's a lot of financial admin needs doing, I'd better stop all this blasted decluttering. Not a happy bunny. Frankly, with the drop in my income, I'm firmly wedged now in the group of people that bad things happen to when services are cutI can't keep faffing about on the Kindle Comic Creator or whatever it's called - got to work at making serious dosh now. Bit scary, this.

Right, MvM has posted a question on his thread, saying "What will you guys be working on in August to optimise your mortgage overpayments". Very good question!
I don't have a goal in mind yet (apart from, y'know, make a million dollars) but this is what comes to mind:
- stop the focus on decluttering, backup the computer and leave things as they are for now.
- add up income for last tax year, and incidentally see what my income this year has been so far.
- sort my position with HMRC - rectifiying that mistake I made last year meant that they claimed for a lot more and refunded me nearly as much. I'm not sure the money I paid in the right account yet
- bring my assets list up to date - its only about 6 months out, so it shouldn't be too bad. But I don't have interest rates there, or expiry dates of fixed rates, and they should be there.
- do a SOA. Oh my god.
- hypnotise the premium bond machine to get hold of that million pound win.Save2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Good plans there (if a little scary). I have £5 in premium bonds that someone bought when I was born - I found them through the tracing service a few years back. Turns out in the 30 odd years they'd been lost I'd won a grand total of... nothing :rotfl: :rotfl:0

Good for you for finding them
The first premium bonds I had, you could buy £1 at a time :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: then when I rented out my flat in London and went to live with my boyfriend, I put money aside for the tax, and put it in premium bonds in the meantime
I've sold some over the years, but I have the grand total of £200, I think
I'm probably not going to win the million pound prize
Save2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I have £4 which are only slighly younger than I am (they are physical bits of paper), which I've kept for hysterical raisins. I have won £20 on them though..."Follow the money!" - Deepthroat (AKA William Mark Felt Sr - Associate Director of the FBI)

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: you probably couldn't even sell them, Z, you'd have to buy another block. Excellent news to hear how much you've won on them, though
Right, another day, another dollar, as we used to say in Liverpool (that meant the wage was five bob ). Okay. More thinking going on, and as per the plan hatched yesterday, I'm backing up the computer right now (takes a while, couldn't do it yesterday).
Working face to face at midday, so when I've checked mse (very quickly, its nearly 10.45!) I need to clean up and make things client-presentable. Tax paperwork is downstairs, so that's where I'll be after the client leaves. Got to get to grips with this.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Didn't get to grips with the tax paperwork
Had a massive tidy up after my neighbour called round to look for his pregnant cat in my back garden (Ginger Cat's girlfriend
). Looked at the living room, which he had to walk through because my garden gate has collapsed, and was appalled. So lots of time spent tidying up
Still more today - but my business partner is coming round for a meeting today, probably our last before I retire, and I can give him two filesI may even have a look in my long term storage box, see if anything else can be released to him
