Just popping in to wish everyone a happy 2016 with lots of fun, success and the good health to take advantage of all the wonderful opportunities that hopefully lie in wait for us:beer:

I'm desperately fighting sleep, I was up so ridiculously early this morning:eek:, but I really want to see the London fireworks on TV after midnight. I love fireworks especially when I don't have to go out in the cold and wet to see them:j

I hope you saw them, CBC! I haven't caught up with them yet, but I agree, fireworks are wonderful :j I have quite a few high-five memories :j

Cheery, hello, here I am on the other side :) happy new year.

Just popping in for a catch up. The sugar free stuff made me smile. I've been sugar free for over 10 years.
In the last 12 months I've had a couple of sugary things - a glass of wine with girlfriends mid December, a mince pie at Christmas and a digestive biscuit. Errr that's it :) I went sugar free years ago when a chance reading of a book made me connect sugar with my mood swings. And I've been so ever since reading the science behind why the occasional sugar is not such a good thing. Yes there are lapses but they are really rare. Its kind of become a habit now :)
Watty, what a great post for the very first one after 00.00 on 1st January :j:j:j thanks!

Is that refined sugar or all sugar? Even when I was sugar free, I was still eating dried fruit :o, I don't think I'd be able to go completely hardcore.

Anyway, tis 2016, 1 January, the symbol of turning points. This year is definitely a turning point for me, and just like Howard Carter said when he first opened Tutankamun's tomb, there are Wonderful Things in store :D and below is the Post of Pretty Colours, to ensure I Make It So :)

The other thing for this year is what I wish for us all: Health, Wealth and Happiness :)

decluttering - a rucksack that hasn't sold on ebay, and half a dozen books, off to the chazzer v soon. Broken bucket (plastic, the *bottom* is broken!) into the bin. I've got 3 books by the same person sitting by my armchair - one, at least, is going to have to go. And I've been scanning paperwork and throwing the hard copy
    :j

September retirement plans: not my work, but my sister's, she's booking a beautiful holiday house today, for September.

    Plans for today:
    - off to town for that decluttering trip, which will also be bringing in some half price Christmas cards.
    - Mould. The cleaning of, in the porch, to be done.
    - a repeat of my ingenious method of using stuffing mix - make it, and mix in some quorn with it  with extra spices to cope. Ridiculously pleased with myself :rotfl:
    - Sherlock downloaded. A lunchtime treat :o:D

Sorry KC but this has actually quite upset me. Having met you :D I can say you are a lovely person, inside and out. By all means use the wedding as a focal point but have a fitness and beauty regime for YOU - not for a family wedding.

A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

:o:kisses3: That's a huge great compliment, thank you! I know what you mean about the plans, I do, honestly. And that's how I live my life, and a lot of it *is* about my wishes - I'm tired of having long hair, I'd like to get rid of the dratted milia from my face and neck, I'd like to be fit enough to go to a 3.30pm wedding and cope until they do the toasts! The toning exercises are for me too, that dress is damned tight right now around the waist :D

The rest of it - you're right, it isn't for *me*. It's for my sister. It's a complex situation, but she's the mother of the groom and there's no one else to support her in depth except me and my mum, who can't do "subtle" to save her life. The level of wealth involved, too, is intimidating for her - not for me :D I don't care about wealth at all in that way - and I don't want her to perceive me as a liability on the appearance level, thats the truth behind all this faff about wedding appearance. I love her, and I'll support her in the way she wants to be supported.

But thank you for chipping in :kisses3: its much appreciated, I do need to keep *me* in sight as well :j

The plans for the day had mixed results - I decluttered to the charity shop, I picked up four sets of half price cards, and I downloaded Sherlock and I've watched it as planned, plus the dishwasher's on and there's yet more tidying done, including getting *all* the recycling in the bin.

No mould seen to, no stuffing mix baked. Tomorrow has just been declared a cleaning day - I certainly won't be able to clean everything that needs it in the two hours I'll have after phone calls etc and the first in-person client arrives at midday  :D

Pretty much all sugar. Dried fruit made me crave sugar so I gave that up too. It is a bit hardcore I suppose but it mostly works for me. To the point I think my taste buds have changed now.
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!
