I think people in general on here are great at finding a way to make things work - you can't follow other people's plans, only your own. I make a long list, for instance, because I like to pick and mix from it - I don't list three things and do them all, it doesn't work for me. So I found a way that does :j

Right, I'm off for that lovely shower - see you later :kisses3:
What a fabulous way to put it, pix n mix, love it

That book shelf sounds like it's gonna be a tough one, or maybe that's just me, I seem to go so long getting rid of books to turn round and find I've bought loads more ....

    I blame the studying

Glad you liked the pick n mix phrasing, Sue :)

El - the bookcase will hopefully work. Almost half of one shelf could be rehomed if I had the new layout (i.e. without clients :) ). Plus some work books can go, and there are other books that can go too. Some will be double-shelved for a while, that's okay. Some client files I still need are on my little tiny bookshelf upstairs - they can be archived, freeing up another foot or so of shelf. Everything will be used to the max, but thats okay, as long as it isn't stuffed, if you know what I mean! I used to have **eight** full height bookcases - I know have just over two, so I've not done too badly :rotfl:

    My ta-da list:
    - washing load out on the line and very nearly dry
    - dishwasher load done
    - I baked a stuffing mix, and put some quorn in - omigod, initiative in the cooking sphere, I may collapse :rotfl:
    - wrote out an announcement of my retirement on the website, and actually published it (on several pages :o it seemed relevant at the time).
    - backed up the computer, which took a while as I'd made a pig's ear of the last update.
    - tidying like crazy - not finished, but I've had an effect on 3 rooms :D
    - that lurvely long shower.
    - and, uh oh, I still have to change the bed.

It looks a lot written out like that, but I swear I've had a mini Stargate marathon today, I watched a *lot* of episodes :p

It was weird ... it's the last step, because I've been dealing with it face to face with current clients for months - this is just to prevent people wasting their time wondering whether to contact me - even over the last few days, its getting more than a dozen hits a day, with no advertising at all, so thats quite important.

It honestly didn't feel like much - its much more intense to deal with it face to face. Nice to get it done, thats all, really. I'm surprised at that myself!

Yep its funny how somethings we think are going to be a big step just become not bad...

It's another step closer to August, another tick in the list of things to do... another wee chance to get excited :)

Are you ready to retire ? Not right now obviously ... but when the time comes?

Reading Marine life's diary has taught me so much of the psychology involved in retiring, I think it's as equally important as the financial stuff tbh

I still get depressed thinking about the opportunity that he has turned down for now. I can't help but think about that Simpsons episode where Mr Burns has a near death experience and thinks 'I wish I'd spent more time at the office'!

Here's hoping KC doesn't get stuck thinking 'one more year' :)
