Isa rates are shocking this year!

I'm going for the Halifax 1.6 percent fixed for 18 months, in the hope that, by the time it ends, rates might have risen and there'll be some decent rates around.

I love my 123 account, it's very pleasing to get a small cashback each month, and the interest isn't bad either!

I'm also thinking about Club Lloyds for the 4% interest rate, and I could have their regular saver at 4%. Although, I'd need to rustle up a couple of direct debits for the Club Lloyds

When Nationwide's 5% interest rate finishes (October I think) I'm thinking of a switch to M&S for the incentive and access to the 6% regular saver

Enjoy the sun, I'm going to sit out for a while in a moment

Thanks Goldie - I used to be on top of stuff like this, when I was a dfw-er, though admittedly I never switched my bank account around. Santander 123 pays 3% gross, less £24 p.a. for the charge, though you can lessen the charge with cashback. Its astonishing! Much better paying than an ISA!

Cup of tea is made, coffee grounds, loose tea and eggshells (as well as, erm, ant killer) are spread where they can do most good, I'm taking my cuppa outside now :)

I used to be very lazy with financial products, I'd never check to see what interest rates I was earning, which is bad, considering I worked for a bank!

Brill work there KC! :j Very impressed with all your financial shenanigans :j

I went with Triodos for my ISA, 1.6% (I think), online only, but I have to give 30 days notice to remove anything. I confess that was last year though and I've just let it roll over to this year...

beanie, that's great - I loathe phone calls, but they have to be done, and admittedly the call centres seem to be better these days.

Cheery - thanks! It's still April, so rolling over - like this :rotfl:- is absolutely fine :D after all, I'm listing "to-do" work, not "done". And if its 1.6%, and ethical to boot, thats great - Martin's currently listing 1.55% as the top ethical ISA return.

Triodos look after my Wind Fund shares :j

The bits of garden that I weed will eventually join up and then my whole garden will be weeded :p at the moment, I've come across the roots of the bindweed that buried everything last year :( I think it probably needs big sheets of cardboard, and regular attention.

6pm! Another cuppa, and make my tea :p

I wondered when that would get picked up :D

£5 nectar points redeemed yesterday, only had a bit of shopping which promptly became half price :j and a big money off voucher - £6 off a £30 spend, I think. Worth stocking up on peanut butter for that :D

Right, today ... another day, another dollar ...

    1. the money I'm caretaking, I need to get all the details in one place.

    2. I may use the Santander thing (if I'm accepted, I know how Goldie feels now! but if they reject me, I'll tell them I'm a shareholder, as its true :p) anyway, I may use it for my own stuff now, and stuff the caretaker money in an isa after all, coventry do a long fix 2.25% isa, thats a good return, its get-out-of-able, and it doesn't mix up my money with caretaker money. Santander *would* do that - its not the monthly deposit, its the direct debits that have to go out, it just gets detailed and messy.

    3. Quite a bit of client work today (plus the relevant cleaning :D).

    4. More weeding

    5. I absolutely *have* to do something about the porch ceiling. I'm too ashamed to give details :p but if I saw someone else's house looking like that, I'd be scared :p

I have abandoned the adage 'another day, another dollar' due to the strength of the dollar vs. sterling messing up my holiday plans. I have moved onto Euros, we seem to get plenty of those for our buck these days :rotfl:

Hope you have a productive and sunny day KC.
