Morning KC
Just popping in for a quick de-lurkI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
:hello::hello::hello: I didn't know you still lurked, hiya! Off to push the linkie to your profile and see where else you're lurking :j How you doing, duchy?2023: the year I get to buy a car0
-
Oops, the only thing that got done was the client work, so far today - I was cleaning, honest I was, and a whole load of goop fell on the floor ... it was so beyond the pale, I ended up taking a shower
not something I'm fond of less than an hour before a client arrives!
Right. Weeding and paperwork. See ya.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Eek, goop on the floor doesn't sound good! Still sounds like you got some useful things done :j0

Nice weeding weather.0

Sealant?A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Sealant?
Okay, I give in :kisses3: This is my amended to-do list, the original made at 11.30 last night on my phone does *not* include the sealant :rotfl: :
- apply for coventry isa
- start to get money from Royal London
- SEALANT
- banking, and Iceland for broccoli :j
Have a rest.
- blogpost
- check out the copywriting book I reserved from the library, its due back next week
- weeding. And laying down the bark chippings, if I can join up any of the weeded bits.
Have another rest.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Update:
[STRIKE]- apply for coventry isa[/STRIKE] done!
[STRIKE]- start to get money from Royal London[/STRIKE]
phoned them for the details of what's where. I hate, hate, hate talking to financial companies. Slight rant deleted here.
- SEALANT
cupboard emptied onto the drainboard (which means I *have* to do it now) and sealant is staring at me.
Thats it for now, I'm having some pasta before I explode (holding back a rant is really difficult :rotfl:).
I'm also terrified - that money has shot up in the last 6 months, after it took a 10% hit - by putting it back into cash, I'm denying myself those potential gains. But the keyword is "potential".
And investopedia reminds me, not only this http://www.investopedia.com/terms/s/sequence-risk.asp
which Ed told me about, but this http://www.investopedia.com/ask/answers/08/risk-retirement-profile.asp
The money isn't at the conservative 60% stocks/40% fixed yet, and this is helping that balance along. Still, I'm going to wait till I get the nod from my sister, she's involved too.
ETA - the sealant was the wrong type - can't be used with plastic pipesso I've used polyfilla exterior - god knows if that will hold, but at least it won't eat the plastic:cool: not finished yet, it needs layers. Once I finally knelt down to it, it took about 3 minutes, even tho I couldn't see (its under the sink after all! Imagine reaching to the wall underneath the sink :rotfl:).

I also hate talking to financial companies, hence the focus on DIY. When I opened my CB account (lasted all of a year until the sods dropped the rate), I had to have an honest-to-goodness branch appointment with an annoying wee spiv who didn't listen to a word I said.
Remember to adjust your ratios of riskier/less risky assets as you go. For example, if you have a 60/40 fund with a big wodge of cash, you're not 60/40.0 -
Thanks Ed! I know whereof you speak
look what I just typed up in my new GTD list:
Pension funds
make sure I have all the details available
make sure I know what they're invested in
Savings
make sure I have all the details available
make sure I know what they're invested in
And I'm glad someone else really hates talking to them!
Just came back to check out my list for this afternoon: the blogpost, copywriting reading and weeding. Ug! Okay, weeding it is, then. I might force myself to have a second coffee to read that copywriting book2023: the year I get to buy a car0
