It's been blowing a gale here all day! Letter slot has been banging off and on in a possessed sort of way!:D
Nothing but wet outside so we've been hibernating! Bah to BST!;)4 YEARS 10 MONTHS DEBT FREE!!! (24 OCT 2016)(With heartfelt thanks to those who have gone before us & their indubitable generosity.)...and now I have a mortgage! (23 AUG 2021)New projection - 14 YEARS 8 MONTHS LEFT OF 20 YEARS (reduced by 16 mths)Psst...I may have started a diary!0 -
I could have written that post (except the letter slot - new upvc, dontcha know
but the wind is blowing like fury even through that tiny little keyhole that those doors have!).
We had rain later too - very bah! to BSTthough its now stopped, and I managed to get a 25 minute walk to the edge of the countryside round here :j
Kitchen smells of banana cake :j I've also re-arranged my keyrings :rotfl: and done absolutely nothing else.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Morning! Well, its a working week again: woke up feeling much more rested, which is lovely but I wish that had happened while I was on holiday
Still, I *do* feel rested. Washing machine is on again (and stopped half way uh oh _pale_ it may not be long for this world), d/w is ready, and I have a few end of year financial things to do before a humongous supermarket delivery, I did two months storecupboard shopping in one go to get free delivery
Onwards and upwards. Mostly to the washing line2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Right, and there are financial shenanigans too:
I got my mobile phone account online over the weekend, finally, because I saw some texts that might be from a chargeable number  they were! A chain of four phone calls later (all to freefone numbers) found someone who took responsibility, and admitted they were sent, though didn't admit that they were spam. Had a phone call this morning confirming liability and that they're going to send a *cheque* as reimbursement! Good grief ... imagine how much these people must be making if they can afford 0800 numbers, a British-based call centre to take weekend calls, and an admin worker to call me today and send a reimbursement. The mind boggles. So, amount that firms have tried to take from me irresponsibly in the last month: £85!!!
Plus, in happier news, I'm finally sending off my pension contribution for this year - the charges are *really* low, so I'm a happy bunny.
ETA - plus £34 from an isa going to the pension shortfall.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Me again, having met an mse-er yesterday :j:j:j bit tired last night tho
One of the last loads has been through the w/m - I'm a bit suspicious of my washing line's ability to withstand wind of over 40mph, but its holding so far  and lets face it, as long as it doesn't rain, stuff will be drying *really* quickly :rotfl:
Another session postponement today, towards next week, so once again I can focus on, erm, Getting Things Done. Getting my mastercard online, for instance, that needs a phone call cos the bank wouldn't recognise me yesterday (sob). I've got a free webinar booked in at 5 from Writer's Digest "How to launch a well paid writing career in 60 days or less"
I'm betting its by signing up to one of their paid courses :rotfl: but there's no harm in having it on in the background while I do other stuff.
Sunshine here!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Well, the washing dried **really** quickly :rotfl:
And oh my, trying to get a credit card and an existing isa online is like pulling teeth: one company has the following referring to my titchy tiny ISA with them:
- a generic sort code
- a generic account number
- a roll and reference number.
- an account number (the same as the roll and reference number)
- a customer number
- a reference number (different from the one with the roll number).
- standard three "memorable" pieces of data. However, when they ask for that, they don't say, "please give us any one of the three", they say "memorable data" ...
I'm surprised their system hasn't imploded from the sheer level of frustration directed at them down the telephone wires
Likewise, their website goes round and round and round with useless piffle, rather than giving people what they want, which is a fast way to find their online details, surely ...
And now they're sending me a letter, and my existing accounts have been cancelled. Don't even *look* at the login page because then you'll be imprisoned (okay, I'm exaggerating, but they do promise you'll be locked out of the website).

It certainly is, beanie, and I think it has
Just been checking my French log-ins, for the apartment - official French gibberish at the bank, though I've copied it into an Open Office doc, and I'll practice my Official French on itbut my mortgage, which probably ends in September 2018, is now at 1.35% p.a., because of the state of the euro - I haven't even had the bank statement telling me that yet - thats the lowest its ever been :j and its 25768,53 € still outstanding, about £18,754 according to Yahoo's currency converter :j:j:j

Great stuff on the mortgage :T.
Hope your ears have recovered since yesterday :rotfl:.A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effortMortgage Balance = £0
