Ha Ha. Thanks for that Molerat.

Several of us have been trying to explain to Hpuse how important it is to read things, but all we get back is stuff like this:

You keep asking people "read" "read" "read" what you are buying, but you fail to read my post.
Where have I said someone will get a refund or how to get a refund. Get real and read once more. Its funny we all love to laugh when people can't read:rotfl:

You're right Hpuse... it sometimes is funny to laugh when people can't read. ;)

While it is American, you have to consider that the figures are surprisingly low. When you think of the millions of credit card transactions done daily in America versus approximately 25,000 complaints in a period of over 3 years ....... pretty good!

It does not say what percentage of the market is held by Capital One - that would be useful to know.

Oh yes, wealdroam, I knew this would be coming.... what about following reading below?

    http://www.capitalone.co.uk/aboutus/who-are-capital-one.jsf
    • We are a subsidiary of Capital One Financial Corporation in the US which started as an independent company in 1995, rising quickly to the top of the US credit card industry before starting our first overseas venture here in the UK in 1996
    • In 1997 we opened our UK headquarters in Nottingham. This created around 1,200 jobs in the East Midlands
    • Today we're a top ten credit card issuer in the UK
    • In the US, Capital One Financial Corporation is one of the country's top ten banks offering a wide range of financial products and services to consumers, small businesses and commercial clients

Now, hope you would understand the reason why I posted. If capital one goes bust in the US, its UK subsidiary, i.e the customers who hold their products are also impacted, thankfully they do not offer savings account.

Is it looking likely that Capital One is going to go bust? Links please.

To be honest, I'd be very careful if I was you. Saying a company is on the verge of going bust when untrue could cause you serious repercussions.

But he didn't say that. He fully qualified what he said -- I suggest you look up the definition of the word 'if'.

Have you not read the OP's post? If Capital One US goes bust, knock on effect to UK consumers........

Edit - You edited your post after I replied.

Im well aware of what the word "If" means, however OP talking about the possibility of Capital One US going bust which is why I was asking for links to back it up.

Unless of course, the OP has seen the article about Capital One being the most complained about credit card in the US and thinks because of that there is potential they could go bust having knock on effects for the UK?

The way the OP has worded her reply, makes it sound like a warning to Capital One UK customers.

Is that not what you said then?

Ok, heres how I interpreted your post, please correct me if im wrong.

The reason I posted the original article is to serve as a warning that Capital One is the most complained about card company in the US. Due to this they could lose a lot of custom with the potential to go bust, which would have a knock on effect to the UK customers.
