Ok, heres how I interpreted your post, please correct me if im wrong.
The reason I posted the original article is to serve as a warning that Capital One is the most complained about card company in the US. Due to this they could lose a lot of custom with the potential to go bust, which would have a knock on effect to the UK customers.
Well, that still doesn't claim they are going bust. Emphasis on the word 'could'. Unless he has shares with the company or a competitor, there's nothing wrong in providing such an analysis.0 -
Hmmm....
A company I may or may not owe money to (depending on the date) may, or may not, go bust....
What should I do....?0 -
If hpuse could read I reckon he would have worked out that the 'o' is right next to the 'p'."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

I've had a Capital One card for nearly three years. I've paid them £54 in annual fees, and they've given me £460 cash back. I'm not complaining!0

I am very pleased with my Capital One card. I pay no fee and get substantial cash back every year. They have a very easy to use system for disputes and always been helpful when I have used it.
If they do go bust, what is the risk to card holders? I do not understand why we should be concerned?"A nation's greatness is measured by how it treats its weakest members." ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Oh, do please try and touch base with reality once in a while.
Yes, if you are a member of the financial community and made such a statement it could get you into trouble, but an anonymous member of an internet forum - and a non specialist one, at that? Pur-lease. No one is going to take any notice of such a posting so there can be no case for damage. There are two types of people in the world: Those that can extrapolate information.0 -

Thank you for your words of wisdom, duly noted.
It was a helpful warning. Yup, chances nothing will happen, but theres always a chance. No-one is anonymous on the internet, people seem to forget that.0 -

I have had my Capital One World MasterCard card for about the same time and had about the same cash back too, I am just due for some anytime now but I have never paid a penny in charges or fees. Also I reported my card lost one Tuesday evening last year the replacement arrived by post on the Thursday morning and the customer service operator couldn't have been nicer.0 -
'IF', 'MAY', 'COULD', not a lot of point in worrying about any of those or I'd be wasting chunks of my life I won't get back. Most of those words could be applied to half the financial organisations in the country!
No complaints with my Capital One card, no monthly fees, no interest and we get annual cashback. Though a lower % than we get with our Barclaycard so Capital is usually our second choice after we hit the cashback limit with Barclaycard.Seen it all, done it all, can't remember most of it.0 -

Their deals change from time to time. Unfortunately, once you have one of their cards, you can't switch to a new deal (I suppose I could cancel the card and then apply for a new one after a while, but opportunities for a better card don't come up very often. I pay £18 a year for the card, but get £10 a year cashback bonus, so the true cost is £8 a year. I get 1% cashback on all spending. I also got £18 back from TopCashBack when I first got the card, so taking this into account its only cost me £6 over three years.0
