You cant expect tescos to give you the difference if you buy a product one week and the next week its reduced and discontinued, the pricing is something the stores dont control as well as if a line is discontinued, i saw the same happen at saisnburys with wines, beers or spirits, 1 week a wine is on sale at its normal price then the next week its on offer and week after the product is reduced more as its been discontinued

theres not much you can do davie imo

If you pay on a Monsoon card and the item goes in the sale you can get the difference, also Gap,. If you take the receipt in they will give you the difference. You don't have to take the actual items back.

This may have changed since I did it last though. You would have to check .

It just shows how much the original prices are inflated if they can afford to do this doesn't it?

Sometimes items are discontinued due to supplier issues, also some decisions will be taken at store level and some at HO level.

Damn all that petrol I bought just before the prices went down........

and so on. Prices change - its a fact of life and more than that you could probably have got the product cheaper elsewhere in the first place.

I bought my house, 20 years ago, for £80,000, it is on the market for £360,000 ; should I pay the difference to the builder ?

What you could do is to buy an item but do not use it. Remember to keep the receipt. Should the item then be reduced take the original item back for a refund/credit note then re-purchase the item at the discounted price. Repeat until the item is no longer available. You are now free to use the item.

Also, as far as I can remember Amazon also do a "price reduced within 30 days of purchase price match" offer...

What if I brought some grapes, ate them and then they were cheaper?

What proof would I have to show them of the purchase to reclaim the difference?

OP - do you want a refund of the £26 the item was discounted to, or for the full amount, because it was then discontinued?

Monsoon haven't done this for a couple of years now  . You still get loyalty rewards, but when their cards changed a couple of years ago, they took away the benefit of sale difference refunds. There was a time limit anyway, and if you bought things a long time before the sale, you didn't necessarily get the difference back.
