Refused online banking with Santander

Why would I be refused online banking with Santander? Anyone else had this problem? I've been with them for yrs and I mean years. Opened an account with N&P, then Abbey National took them over. So over 20 yrs.

I am considering switching to either Lloyds or Nat West, as I am totally miffed with this. I've tried twice only the receive an email to say "no".

I have a small overdraft of £200 which I go into a few days before payday (who doesn't), and a couple of credit cards with balance transfer on them (less £400 on one & £800 on the other, and I do not use them to make any purchases as I have no pin with them). I would like to ensure I know how much I have in the bank without having to visit a cash machine.

So just wandering is it me or are they really that [EMAIL="c@@@p"]c@@@p[/EMAIL].
