It depends on what I'm doing. Normally 1-1.5 liters. If I'm running the next day, it can be anything up to 3 liters.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

Pffft! NEVER did believe all that. I drink when I'm thirsty, makes me nauseous to drink water otherwise. And I believe that it interferes with correct absorption of meals if you drink copiously with a meal, so everything is sloshing around inside you.
I have small coffee for breakfast, black tea mid morning, small glass of fizzy water mid afternoon and a glass of water over the evening. Must total less than 2 pints when all combined...
I'm rarely poorly, have a BMI of 20 and don't consider myself to be daft (although my memory's not what it used to be!)
If someone could tell me how I could increase my fluids WITHOUT increasing the number of trips to the loo I'd hear them out.0 -
Easy, 3-5 pints of tea during the day.
Then 3-5 Pints of real ale in the evening!0 -
I think it was only ever '8 glasses a day' that was recommended, and I think even that was debunked recently as not having any evidence of benefit behind it.
It is important to stay well hydrated for all sorts of bodily functions like kidneys and bowels - but how much you need is dependent on what activities you are doing and how hot & dry it is anyway.
Lo and behold, I think that the thing that was shown to be the most reliable indicator was if you were thirsty! Whoever would have thought it? A response that has evolved over millions of years proving to be reliable! How to find a dentist.
1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.0 -
And drinks are not the only way in which we take in water to our system.0

I never did believe the "by the time you're thirsty it's too late and you're dehydrated" mantra.0

Usually, I drink 2L of water a day. I have milk in the porridge for breakfast and I sometimes have a large mug of peppermint tea. Not forgetting the odd glass of wine here and there0

6 pints sounds like an awful lot. I would guess I drink about 6-8 glasses of water a day, but I don't go counting them. Thirst and the appearance of your urine are the main indicators of whether you need to up your fluid intake.0

About 3 pints plain water, and maybe 3 teas or coffees. That's during the week - I'm not so good on water at the weekends."Save £12k in 2019" #120 - £100,699.57/£100,0000

Doc said to me 2 litres of non alcoholic drinks such as water, squash, tea or coffee is fine. More if hot or some exercise. A glass is about 250ml anyway so 8 glasses is about 2 litres....that's enough.:footie:
