Steps to take if you have been ripped-off by a copy-cat government website

If copycat ads are not appearinh in google then no one clicks them.
Removing ads is a major blow.
Its almost as good as a google giving a kick on their b@lls.
They are still appearing, but they're paid for ads anymore so that don't come up in the pink 'ad' box at the top of the page. But they are still most definitely there.
Ironically, it's threads like this attracting people to go have a look and what all the fuss is about that is keeping them up in their fourth position on the search results. Nice one hpuse!Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

They do appear to have returned at the top as 'pink ads'.0 -

Ha, that didn't last long! 1 day. Now they're back at the top above the gov.uk result.
I don't seem to get a pink box anymore in chrome, but they do now have a little orange 'ad' icon next to them which, I suppose, is easier to see than the pink box.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
Looks like Google have taken the decision that there is nothing wrong with them displaying adverts from legitimate companies.
Perhaps the bribe from the Government to remove them wasn't enticing enough.
What an excellent decision, just in 24 hrs ....
Same time when copycat conmen started cloning their existing sites and register it under another domain.
imoneyop - are you in Google's BOD any chance?0 -

@Keith-66
As you can see "copycatism" is contagious state.
In 24 hrs, they copycated themselves to another domain to stay away from google's ad filter..
More than anything some poster here thinks google already revoked their decision to support "legitimate" companies.
Hahaha, this is what you call desperation in state of survival econonmy...:rotfl:0 -
Excellent insight!. You clearly know how it works, or rather how to make something work and say google legitimised it. :rotfl:
Yes, I do know how it works as I have used it for a number of years. Unlike you, I don't pretend to know about things that I haven't really got a clue about - as you've found out, doing that only results in you repeatedly being made to lok like a fool.
As to Google legitimising it, they haven't, the law of the UK as it currently stands has done that. But I have a question, what if Google UK put a filter/block on subscribing accounts not for bids/budgets competing on their keyword factory for CPC :-)
I'm not really sure what the question is meant to be, as you don't seem to have written it in English.
But, why would they want to block individual accounts when they can just block a whole keyword? It's not like the official passport site is using PPC advertising.
Google can (and have) choose whether to allow PPC adverts to appear for specific keywords - they will either do that because they have to (because the law requires it) or they want to (a commercial decision).0 -

Erm, Sorry, which law was that ?

You have been using it for number of years, but obviously you haven't read the small print :rotfl:
Nevermind, it is still not too late to read it, it is over here

But how can Google do this when you already know that these sites are legal??
