After over 1000 posts on this thread we have established the general theme is Hpuse is wrong.

I agree, Hpuse is wrong - that is why banks dispute department considering a dispute from a customer despite customer reading, agreeing by clicking rip-off T&C's :rotfl:

If you recall earlier, people here were saying bank simply will ignore and they will not entertain a dispute because the customer clicked agreed to T&C's of this website.

Atleast now are we in agreement that they will agree for a dispute!!

So my OP still stands tall !

Actually if you recall they said very plainly, you may well get an initial refund until the company provides proof that they got what they paid for.

I really wanted you to quote the regulation bit in your post.

Now that you have bought it, you now know what was enforced in case of Tesco under a regulation and act are different?

Now coming to copycats - that is probably the same course of action.

Point really to make is - legally existing and trading entities are subject to monitoring and 'actions' by authorities even if they did not explicitly break any law.

Probably, is far from a certainty. If you know for certain please post evidence here.

They consider a dispute, get both sides if the dispute. Then decide, usually for the company that wants paying as said company provides proof of following the law and providing the service.

    Sigh, you said it yourself.
    You can start a dispute.
Doesn't mean it will go in your favour.
If you start the dispute, the bank will look at what terms and conditions you agreed to then decide if you get money back.

If you could ever just read some if the accounts on here you would know, the bank may give you a refund while they check, then weeks later take the money back, as no law has been broken

You mean you did not ask what that meant?

That means there could be at least one if not more reasons under the regulation.
The bank normally will not disclose the exact details. The credit payment network(in your case Mastercard) authorises the card issuing bank/company to issue charge backs based on the nature of dispute in question.
As a result, the network also applies its own fraud and chargeback monitoring on transactions flowing through and gets a consolidated audit view at trader and merchant levels.
