  • Mrs mortenharket yes you can apply without diagnosis.... You just have to be able to show he has needs above other kids of hs age.
If you need any help let me know on FB as I've helped a fair few people with it at parental drop in I volunteer at.
This is a good guide to follow http://www.cerebra.org.uk/English/getinformation/guides%20for%20parents/Pages/DLAGuide.aspx
  • Thank you Hillstep. I have Aspergers. Noah is further down spectrum with classic autism so his needs are greater and his profile more complicated.
I wasn't diagnosed till 40 and had managed school, nursing degree and masters by then lol .... School could have been easier had I been diagnosed but this was 1970s.... I was just quirky and kooky lol

    Afternoon all,

Up at 7.30 this morning as DGS2 stayed the night....its an ungodly hour of the morning for me nowadays, so nipped back to bed as soon as he went off to school, fell fast asleep and woke at 10 feeling dreadful, remember now why I rarely go back to bed, ended up missing my knitting group, but got a call to say that I can collect new car at 3 thats a bit of compensation, was beginning to think that it onenever arrive.

Wet and windy here, stay safe and warm

    Hi all

TTFTM Yay!:T Glad your payment came through at last; and you did exactly the same as I'd have done with it!:o

NPM Good luck, here's hoping you don't have to resort to court. What a bunch of idiots - “weren't aware”, my foot! Poor Noah – from what you've said, mainstream schooling would be the last thing he needs.

Julie I'd push to be allowed to do your physio at home; it'll be less stress, and you'll be able to devote your energy to getting your knee right, instead of the stress of travelling. In any case, surely they can't drag you in kicking and screaming, can they?

Mrs MH Ah, the joys of the smut filter – I wonder how members of dog-lovers' forums do when talking about female dogs?:D

Talking of which – Jessie is an absolute dream to look after; she settled in her bed last night and we never heard a peep out of her; she ate her brekkie with gusto (dry dog food, but with half a cup of warm water added, so that it forms a sort of “gravy” which she loves), and she's been for walkies. She's one of the easiest guests I have; which is good, as my joints, especially my wrists, are rubbish at present. I'll take her for another walk shortly, then she can have her Denta stick.:o
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)
  • NPM I wish you well with the LEA, what a total bunch of bleepstards if they can't be bothered to read the paperwork :mad: I hope that the LEA reconsiders and that it doesn't come to you having to go to court x

Hester I hope that you managed to get your hours cut x

I have just been looking at my DLA form, but feel so poorly at the moment, I just can't find the energy to fill it in :(
I had podiatry this morning, came home and promptly passed out, BG is all over the place on the high side even though my diet is low GI, I had a spike of 22 on salmon, salad potatoes, lettuce, cucumber and a tomato  have no appetite, can't concentrate and feel generally poorly :(
DH is not happy with the diabetic nurse and wants me to see a doctor, I have an appointment to see the nurse tomorrow and this time he is insisting that he comes in with me :o. Plus I am supposed to be making an appointment to see the physio this week, but again, I just don't feel well enough, I will phone her and see what she says.

DD will know on Monday if she has got the job or not, but she is not hopeful, she said the interview was with the office manager and she said that the woman's whole attitude was abrasive, so she is still looking and filling in application forms :(

Sorry to be so downbeat :(

    BFN x

I agree with your DH about seeing doc. Not sure if you are in tabs/insulin but it may need titrating x

    Afternoon.
Late one from me. Day went by rather quick  walked dog, had tattoo done, came back had lunch, bit of housework, another dog walk and time to pick up the kids. Ah well it's only dust ;)

Tea is bacon and courgette pasta bake. Nice and simple.

Mrs MH use the guide NPM shared as it really is very good. When I wrote my I repeatedly referred to what DS needed assistance with above and beyond a NT child of the same age.

NPM no words just :mad::mad: on yours and Noah's behalf. Isn't it time the Government realised that demand is vastly outstripping supply and they need to start tackling this. Instead of p*ssing money away on pointless schemes build some more schools or units that can accommodate people like Noah. Anyway I shall get off my soap box :o

BB hugs for you, hope you feel better soon xxx

    Have a good evening everyone.

I am on 1 gram metformin one in the morning and one at night (2 grams a day) plus a 50mg gliclazide in the evening. I was on sitagliptin but the GP took me off of it
