TMobile...
Hi all
Don't know if anyone can help...
My husband bought me an iphone 5S for Christmas from our local EE store, he bought a TMobile pay as you go sim and topped it up. My current contract is with 3 and I'm quite happy to stay with 3. I tried to get the phone unlocked, but no one is able to do it as yet - maybe some of you know better!!!
Anyway phoned TMobile who are just the worst in the whole wide world btw, and they tell me I have to stay with them for 6 months before I can unlock, is this legal? Does anyone know, and does anyone have advice?
Cheers

I believe different networks have different policies, but I'm not aware that it's illegal for them to ask you to wait a certain time. In fact, Ofcom say:Usually, mobile service providers require a minimum contract or service period to expire before they unlock your phone. Most service providers charge a fee for this service.
I also think that the only 'official' way of unlocking an iPhone is through the network/Apple. However, someone with experience of iPhones will no doubt be along to give you a definite answer.0
