whatever the car is, forget about the mileage (if under 100k and go for general condition, age and spec). Unless its done near to 200k and its a modern car which has most likely been used on a motorway then the mileage is just a number on the dashboard.

Go for the cheaper car with higher mileage. Personally if you like the particular vehcile, then look for one which has done even higher mileage and pocket the difference in price. 12,500 or 25,000 you arnt going to see any difference (mileage wise) for you £3k. Assuming the car isnt some sort of cheapo brand, Depending on what it is I'd say you'd struggle to see any difference between the two you have found and one that has done 100,000 if its been well looked after.
