I'd like to go, never been before. Do you have to pay for the "main arena" so to speak? How much? I saw on the dvd film that there are 'stands' for sitting are any of the stands free? or are they all payable? How much? Obviously you can stand anywhere -outside the central bit- along the course for free, but I imagine the…

I went 20+ years ago (!) with my youngest son who was then 10. We ditched the car at the ferry port and went across on pushbikes with camping gear. Had done our research and booked a campsite out in the sticks about 5 miles from the finish. Crossed the road and stood in a field behind a low bank and watched them come down the hill, doing about 180 10 feet off our noses, nothing like speed when close up and personal.

The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....
