Last night I had a mega disaster.
Tried to open Outlook 2003 email and it said the folders can not be opened. Cut a long story short, folder is corrupt.
Lost 1000's of emails for job applications and stuff like that.
Cant seem to find a way to repair and get them back.
Anyone got any ideas?
thanks

Understeer is when you hit a wall with the front of your car
Oversteer is when you hit a wall with the back of your car
Horsepower is how fast your car hits the wall
Torque is how far your car sends the wall across the field once you've hit it0 -
Thanks I have tried to do that and it don't workQuiet_Spark wrote: »

Long shot, but who is your service provider? I'm with virgin media and although I use Outlook, Virgin keeps all my emails and I can get the ones I've deleted by logging into my virgin media account.0

Could your Outlook file have grown to 2GB in size? If so there's another alternative here (beware it's an old article though):
http://www.techrepublic.com/article/repair-corrupt-outlook-pst-files-with-two-microsoft-utilities/
It also mentions the location of Scanpst.exe as:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\Mapi\1033\NT
if you're running Windows XP
In Windows 8 it seems to be at:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\System\MSMAPI\10330 -
no I need all the ones I have sent also so that no good and I delete mine (inbox online) once a month anyway. Thanks for the idea anyway.Long shot, but who is your service provider? Try here for advice on the location of Scanpst.exe and how to repair Outlook. :

I don't know if or where Outlook keeps its files on your computer these days as I don't use it - however if they WERE on your computer you might have a look at the free 'ShadowExplorer' to see if you can find a shadow copy of the missing folder.

Hey, it's worth a try eh?
I'm not even sure what Outlook IS these days as I believe Microsoft might have/had TWO different things, both called Outlook - Maybe I'm wrong, but remember this is from a nation that takes English measures like gallons, barrels etc, changes the size, but keeps the same name. Nuts! You can lose a loose goose.
You cannot loose a lose goose.
Get it? Now use it before you lose it.
or - Try using it - not losing it.

its still worth checking, depending on how its configured, the server could store the sent mail as well. This also depends on how you setup the account in Outlook0
