"No. F'off"
?
I have been shopping with them for a couple of years and have never seen this offer (although obviously I am not saying it does not exist, merely that I have never before been made aware of it). They are certainly not making current customers aware of it. when our deliveries have been late the past few weeks we have not received any compensation (although to be fair I am not bothered in asking for any as I am just grateful to get my stuff delivered to my door free of charge - or at least I was till Ocado started delivering damaged goods every week!).0 -
I find it hard to believe that 4 bottles of wine would put them over the limit, they should, as you suggested, just bump another customer rather than keeping you waiting indefinately0

Just checked when completing my order for this week and Ocado are only offering to refund the delivery charge if then are 10 minutes late.0 -
I have just checked the offer of Ocado and here is what it states.
Get £50 off your bill if we're not up to the mark.
We are so sure that we can deliver what we promise that we are challenging you to put us to the test. Simply place an order for £90 or over for delivery before the 21/07/2007. Then in the unlikely event that we fail to keep our promise, we will simply give you £50 off the value of the order. Here's how it works:
1.If we deliver your groceries late, even one second after your booked delivery slot,we will refund £50 off your order.
or
2.If we are unable to deliver two or more of your items you ordered, and we do not offer you a substitute, we will refund £50 off your order.
There are terms and conditions that apply
Please note that the promotions are restricted to selected customers only. This offer is only applicable to the named recipient on the accompaying letter, using the current registered Ocado username.
Phone a certain number 08453991122 or 08456561234 quoting the Ocado £50 challenge. The call centre agent will check that you are part of the challenge and will then arrange to refund the £50 to your credit/debit card.Ocado must have received payment for your groceries.
There are other conditions but these are the main ones.

I mentioned this to the Tesco manager and his reply was well were not Ocado!!
This is true though, what did you expect him to say!0 -

I would have hoped that he would have delivered my order as they said they would. That was all I was asking!!

Yeah but thats not what you say. Your telling him what Ocado do.
But that is no gaurentee that Ocado are never late, they just have the above promotion. So really, what did you want him to say specifically about Ocado, do you see what I mean? Theres not much he can say execpt point out your not talking to Ocado!
Also as I said thats no gaurentee Ocado will never be late. This has already been suggested by another poster anyway. What these campaigns are is just marketing. They know their probably at risk on making a loss at that offer but accept that as it's just a marketing campaign to gain more custom via word of mouth etc. It's probably a lot cheaper than doing a tv campaign.0 -
blue nun! best off without it!0

Yes, that's what I thought!
(Actually, I thought of several home-made fluids that would probably taste even better, but recommending them to the OP would probably cause offence.)
I just wish that Ocado delivered in my area. However, I am sure they would never sell Blue Nun.0 -
I think I'd ask them to cancel the order, refund amy money paid and buy it elsewhere (maybe even from a Tesco store if significantly cheaper than other retailers, since the OP mentioned having a car). While I was reading the post about delivery repeatedly being delayed because it would take the van overweight, I was imagining a huge order of dozens of cases of wine: I was surprised to discover it was only 4 cases! I could shift that amount on foot (well, with the aid of my trusty shopping trolley anyway).0
