I'm looking to get a new phone and I know there are canny MSE'ers out there who may have spotted a better deal I may have missed.
The contract I've been offered is:
Samsung Note 3 Handset: Free
Unltd Mins
Unltd Texts
6GB 4G Data
£38.00 per month
Vodafone
Thanks in advance:)

Comparing deals makes no sense if you don't say how many minutes, texts and data you actually need.
For a Note 3 with Unltd+Unltd+6Gb the above deal is not bad, especially if you go to MobilePhonesDirect via TCB for £31.50 cashback.0 -
Tesco Mobile
Motorola Moto g. 16GB Free
500 minutes
5000 texts
500 GB
Use family add ons for more minutes or GB for phones on the same account
£12.50 per month, 24 month contract
Should be more than enough allowance for most people.
Less than a third of the price of the Vodafone deal for one of the best phones available which has just been updated to the latest version of Android OS!0 -
Forgot to add TCB about £18 for the Tesco deal0

What is your actual usage?
Do you have cash for buying the phone?
Note 3 @ £454

Virgin SIM only £15 per month unlimited mins/ txt/ data
Three SIM only £15 per month for 12 month. 2000 min. 5000 txt. unlimited data0 -
If compared to this, the original deal (ignoring the cashback) means taking £454 loan for 24 months with 21.4% APR.Note 3 @ £454

Think the 500gb is a typo... surely 500mb...Tesco Mobile

Oops sorry yes a typo
That would be an even better deal.0 -
OP, you also didn't mention the minimum term?
And the handset is certainly not 'free'. Assuming a 24m contract, you are paying £912 for it minus the value of the airtime. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Thanks all for taking the time to provide feedback and suggestions.
In the end I got the deal for £34 pm and then once the corporate discounts offered by vodafone to certain businesses on top are applied, it will work out at £27.20 pm."This is a forum - not a support group. We do not "owe" anyone unconditional acceptance of their opinions."0
