  • Just finished sorting the living room and the last of the washing is on the line. DD has done all of the ironing.

DD has an interview today so fingers crossed and positive vibes would be much appreciated, she is going mad being at home all day and I am going mad having her underfoot.

Julie stick to Tramadol my consultant does not like co-codamol, he says it does really nasty things to the bowel. I have been on Tramadol for quite a few years now animated-smileys-hairy-wooly-006.gif

Hester I hope your meeting with HR goes well

Julie if Tramadol is what works for you, stick with it, on the basis of "if it ain't broke, don't tinker with it".:o I tried Tramadol, and it didn't agree with me at all (turns out it doesn't play nicely with Moclobemide) so I was on paracetomol and codeine for over a decade; then that stopped having any effect, so now I'm on Morphine.

My schedule for the day has been turned upside down - Jessie was due to arrive at 19:00 this evening; then this morning i got a call to ask if she could come earlier - she's just now arrived.:o I don't mind cos she's lovely, and no bother at all (she's sitting on my feet as I type).:D

I need to make some biscuits in a bit (cake and biscuit tins are empty; I only have one egg in stock, so Birsay biscuits it will be.) Then I shall take The Jessicle for a little trundle out in the sunshine, before we lose thelight for the day.:o

After that I need to construct the pizza for tonight's dins. The base is made, just need to chuck some stuff on top of it.:D

As mentioned yesterday, I did my first mega batch cooking session today.

There's just the two of us, and normally I cook 4 portions, and freeze two

I would normally get 12 portions out of the meat I used today. But by adding extra veg, I achieved 16 portions.

So I think it was worthwhile, but quite tiring. But I have a full freezer now

    ¡ Hola!
Just checking in from the patio :D:D

Unpacked and sorted. Need a little food shopping, need to extract DH from the patio. Given Skye a trim as she was getting a little shaggy, and getting bits caught in her feathers, plus getting knots in her fur, regardless of regular brushing.

DH had to do a repair job on the lift up bed base, as one of the nuts had fell off the arms, but now back to normal.

Julie. Tramadol works for me too, with no side effects, if it works then keep to it.

    LW. Glad Jessie has arrived.

HH. Hope HR were helpful. I agree the extra you get takes too long to recover the missing time.

BB fingers, toes crossed for DD, and a heapful of positive vibes. Hope she find something soon.

((Hugs)). Spoons and positive vibes to all. Take care everyone. DG

    Afternoon all,

Julie - Hope your pain is controlled soon.

Had a lovely walk with my friend this morning followed by a coffee and a warm up. It was lovely out but very cold.

Picked up an application form for Iceland, duly filled that in and dropped it into the local store. I haven't filled in an application form for years and was amazed at the lack of space for answering the questions.

Made a banana loaf this afternoon and am just about to start the potatoes for dinner tonight. Thought I'd do roast chicken etc.

    Have a nice evening.

    Hi all,

Started post this morning but never got to finish it

Hester, hope that HR meeting went well.... less time at work has to be all good for you.

Wet and windy here today, was frosty this morning more frost promised tonight....am frozen all day, have put on a hat and feel bit better.

Dinner today is roast beef, roast potatoes, carrots, onions and cabbage which OH is cooking in some way he saw on tv.....going to stay out of kitchen for that bit! Chocolate pudding which a friend gave me will be pudding.

Julie....take it easy and take whatever painkiller works for you.

Butterfly...hope that interview went well for your DD.

Should check on dinner....DD4 will have less than an hour when she arrives so have rather short window in which to serve up.

Stay safe, dry and warm everybody

Had my meeting with HR, now I have to put my request in writing & await a decision.
I've had egg o toast for tea & might have a snooze in a while, hubby doesn't finish work until 10ish so plenty of time until I need to collect him.
    LW, enjoy Jess's visit.
Molly, I hope you are ok.
    Have a good evening everyone.
    Hugs Hester
    Chin up, Titus out.
  • Hi everyone,

Woke up with a headache today, never a good start! I'm trying not to take painkillers at the first sign of every headache as sometimes they go away on their own but it had not shifted by mid-morning and I was struggling to work so gave in. Thankfully they worked so it hasn't ruined my evening too.

Quick hoover round when we got home and OH has finally agreed that we have enough bones hanging around so they are boiling up to make stock that will turn into soup.

notjustlaura - sorry you've been feeling rubbish but glad you are on the way up again. I'm not sure I understand the phrase 'too much chocolate'!

JulieG - happy birthday to your daughter for yesterday

Hester - from what I have read from you in the past it sounds like you have made the right decision, I hope your work agree to it

Julie67 - glad you are being looked after today, hope you get some more meds that work for you soon

Butterfly Brain - hope your daughters interview went well

Early start tomorrow so am hoping to catch up with a couple of programs and have an early-ish night.

Hugs to those who are sad or not feeling well.

    Emma
