  • Good morning everyone.
Youngest had speech therapy yesterday. It was a new therapist. She seemed far more on the ball so things may move forward.
Also got the referral letter so my dd has an appointment with cahms in a few weeks regarding her anxiety. She has exams this week so it not at all happy.

I am freezing. I have a blanket over me while I'm sat here having my coffee & catching up with the tv. Will get moving in a bit to warm myself up.

Dinner tonight is macaroni cheese for the children & dh & I will have corned beef hash with cauliflower cheese. Will make the cheese sauce with a Caron of long life milk that's reaching it's sell by date.

Notjustlaura, take care of yourself x

Juliegeorgiana, time flies with children. Can't believe my eldest if 14 already!

Julie67, hope you get some more meds soon & they make you pain free x

I'm off to do some housework.

    Love, hugs & spoons xxx

    Morning :D

Lovely sunshine here but heavy frost. Walk to school was a bit slippy in places so spent half my time yelling at DS to walk and not run :o
Woke with really bad headache this morning which is really slow to b*gger off today.
Possibly going to visit a friend who's in hospital at mo, got to get sack of spuds from farm shop and out petrol in the car. That's pretty much my day sorted :o

Tea will be something with chicken, fancy Cajun :D

Hugs and spoons all round x

NJL glad you're feeling better xxx

Hester it's the right decision, hope they will accommodate you xx

All will be well in the end. If it's not well, it's not the end.

    Hi everyone,

I'm late again today, I just can't seem to get myself going these days.

Good luck with HR Hester. DH has worked out that if I don't ask for my pension at 60 (which is an option) and just leave it till 65 it will take over 20 years to make up the money I would have had in those 5 years!

I finished quilting the top of a patchwork quilt last night, all except the borders which I hope to finish today and then I can attach the binding ready to take it up to Yorkshire this weekend for the hand sewing.

I must also dust and vacuum the bedroom and sort out the utility room. I'm listening to an audio book while I'm doing it but I'm not enjoying it. It's a shame because it's an Elizabeth Chadwick whose books I've really enjoyed in the past. It isn't helped by the narrator either.

JulieGeorgiana – just realised your daughters must have a similar age gap to mine, although mine are slightly older. We can swap stories! Mine are 5 and 3.

Julie67 – stick to Tramadol! That’s what I was given when I broke my neck a few years ago, used to float around in a lovely haze, but had to come off it quite sharpish as I was heavily pregnant at the time.

Nowt OS for me today as at work, though suppose I won’t be spending any money while here and I did make my lunch and fill up my water bottle before I left the house.

My new recipe for next Monday will be a Philadelphia macaroni cheese recipe, although my eldest hates cheese. Wonder if she’ll notice what’s in it or will it just taste creamy?

    Afternoon all,

Not much to add from me today. News from the Baby House in South Africa is that the baby who is being fostered by my daughter and her partner is in hospital with Aids.

Household chores completed in record time (for me) and ive got a date with a good book this afternoon.

Quiche and wedges for tea. With something green of course.

    Have a great day all.

22 months between my two youngest, yet there is 9 years and 7 months between my eldest and DD1! I can see my DD's at each other in a few years... isn't that what all children do?
We spend money we don't have, on things that we don't need, to impress people we don't like. I don't and I'm happy!

  • Well I,m sitting here in total chaos. The electricity people are here and re-fitting the whole bungalow. I no it has to be done but there's holes in the walls, dust and grit everywhere, wires hanging in all the rooms. And they are up in the loft so I can't even go to the loo. I.e the hatch is in the bathroom
They have been here 2 days now. Though they tell me they will finish tomorrow. They are lovely lads and work real hard but boy am I fed up with the mess. I,m not house proud by any stretch of the imagination but I can't bear a mess and things not in there place.
I can't even go out there's not much walking you can do with dogs in the cold and I am freezing with the loft and the doors constantly open.
Right that's my rave over. Lol.
So sorry your not feeling to good and in pain Julie67. Hope you get the meds sorted out soon.hugs to everyone sad or poorly.
    Sorry for the moan.

At each other's throats? No, of course, my girls are the best of friends. Hmmmmm.... Well they are some of the time, it is unbelievable how they go from DD1 "Look mum, I'm letting DD2 lie on my lap so she can watch telly better," (yes, I really did get this last night), to them almost throttling each other over a leaf or a bit of cardboard (yes, this has also happened!!!)

Well, you've completely put me off getting my electrics done, haha. I've always put it off because of the complete destruction of my house that will be needed (well, that and the cost of course), I just couldn't be doing with.

When I happened to be at a playgroup with my youngest, they had a visit from the local fire station, so I asked the firemen how I would know if my plugs were a danger. He told me as long as the plugs aren't blackened by overusage, they should be okay. We have very few plugs in each room, so I'm hoping they are okay. Don't have over the top electric gadgets, but more than what they had in 1950 when the house was built!

  • Well I,m very lucky I suppose, I live in a HA house so I havnt had to pay for it. Don't think this place has been re- wired for donkey's years, everything keeps blowing and cutting out. And only had 1 or 2 sockets in each room, so extension wires everywhere. Which I,m sure wasn't safe.
They don't chase wire in the walls now, just those horrible casings. But never mind at least we are safe (hopefully)
Just I,m so bored not being able to do anything.
