    Wow £5.70 a gallon, what a bargain .
Whilst in the USA they pay £1.83 a gallon.

And we think this is something to jump up and down about.
Fuel prices are suppressing or economy and stumping any recovery.
How can any small business survive or expand when a tank of fuel for the van costs over £100 each fill.

They should cut fuel duty by 50% to encourage a recovery.
    Be happy...;)

Well I have just reported it as :spam:

Please do the same and MSE might get the message, this is just getting ridiculous.

MSE are Asda paying you for this advertising?

(Wonder if I will be PPR by morning?)

It didn't make any difference though.

As an aside, since February 2011 I have been maintaining fuel usage records on fuelly.com. Diesel was £1.269 per litre at that time. It went up as high as £1.439 in May 2011 and dropped to £1.309 in August 2011. By December it went back to £1.409.

Prices dropped to £1.299 in February 2012 but then went up to £1.469 in April. They dropped to £1.349 in June then went back up to £1.439 in September. By December they were back to £1.369.

March 2013 saw prices back to £1.439 but dropping back to £1.359 by April. Since April prices have varied between £1.329 and £1.389.

Currently the pound is worth $1.64 and Brent Crude is $107 (£65.25 a barrel. In March 2013 the pound was worth $1.52 and a barrel of Brent Crude was $110 (£72.37).

A barrel of oil holds 159 litres so the current base oil price is 41p a litre against 45p in March 2013.

  • this price cut was announced by two of the biggest supermarkets at the same time, this has to confirm they are price fixing.
