Manchester to Orlando flight times differences?

Just been pricing up non stop flights from Manchester to Orlando, these are the non stop flight times quoted, is this a mistake or do US airways have much slower aircraft?

US Airways outbound : 12Hr 24 mins
Inbound : 10Hr 40mins

Virgin Atlantic Outbound: 9Hr 0 Mins
Inbound : 7Hr 50 Mins

Very strange, they are quoting it as a non stop flight, bloody comparison sites :)
  • Single flight number - a sneaky trick quite often pulled by airlines in the USA that will confuse many flight search sites.

    Non-stop? Or direct?
Everything will be alright in the end so, if it’s not yet alright, it means it’s not yet the end

US Airways have no non stop flights to Orlando from any UK or Irish airport, that is why they ought to be cheaper. If they are not, don't book an indirect flight as you have to go through customs and immigration at the first airport you land in the States and that can take up to 2 hours, one of the reasons the flight times appear so different. If the difference is less than £50 I wouldn't take US Air, even though I am no fan of Virgin, they are the only direct scheduled service from Manchester
  • We went Manchester - Sanford. So much easier than flying into, and out of, Orlando. No crowds, no queues for anything, an absolute breeze!

Are they still pay for everything charter flights?
  • You pay for everything separately, but Thomson often work out cheaper, and have nicer planes, with more legroom, and fly to a better airport than Virgin.

Thomas Cook however I can't whole heartedly recommend.
