Hi I am extremely new to this so apologies if its in the wrong place.

I am on an Orange contract due to run out in sept but believe I could upgrade with them now. I use about 100 mins and just over 100 text per month but would use more if I wasnt on such a crappy deal. Also my hubby is with them tho on a very old Virgin tarrif whereby we only pay for what he uses tho its about the same as me. I believe we therefore cannot upgrade his phone without starting again. Any advise as to the best deal would be appreciated. I have been with Orange since 1995 and kept the same number so would prefer to stay but if the price is right will definately move.

    HI Fruity1
there are good deals out there - free phones and totally free line rentals....but these companies rely on you not adhering to the T&Cs EXACTLY to the letter, See the various threads for each of the providers. If you are willing to put up with the hassle, you can get a free phone and totally free line rental.....assuming the provider doesn't go bust before the end of your contract...LOL

I've just phoned and changed my son's orange contract (a 12 months at 99p through the carphone warehouse).

He was on 75 texts and 200 x network mins which rolled over for £30 a month before cashback and we are only 6 months into the contract (it ends in December).

New deal, 400 mins and 400 texts plus upto 3000 off peak / weekend texts free subject to fair useage policy and I didn't have to take out a new contract either and carphone warehouse confirmed it doesn't effect my cashback claim as I'm still paying the £30 a month for this. Much better deal than before.

Give them a call now if you want to upgrade, or change the package, most let you upgrade at least a month before your contract ends, sometimes two if it's an 18 month contract.

Good luck and do your homework first so you can haggle with them!

Thanks for your replies. I am now within 60 days of my contract end so will do my homework and hopefully bag a bargain.
