Made the mistake yesterday of phoning 118 118 from my mobile on O2 tariff. If you didn't already know, the minimum cost is £5...... Yes a fiver to pay for those two idiotic actors who run round with running vests and shorts on! BE WARNED !!!!!

If you read the footnote of their TV advert, they say a min charge of £1.59 plus £1.99 for BT landlines and mobiles cost much more.

If on O2 use 118 402 it costs £1.

If it's a company you want a number for then Google it for free.

If it comes up with a premium rate number there are plenty of options available to give you a standard rate alternative.

I don't understand why 118 directory enquiries services still exist. Why pay someone to look up a phone number for you when you can look it up yourself for free in the same database?
