Selling a older Nissan
Afternoon all.
I've been tasked by an older relative to sell his car for him, as he has decided his driving days are over.
It's a 2002 02 plate Nissan Primera (so quite an early 'new shape', but not facelift one if my research is correct), 40k on clock, owned from new, with some service history.
It's a 1.8, and drives perfectly. Feels bloody brilliant for a 12 year old car in my opinion. Has a couple of tiny dents (barely visible to naked eye, you have to run your hands over to realise they are there) and a coffee stain on driver seat. Tax for 6 months and mot'd for nearly a year.
How should I go about selling it? What price should i look at? I'm guessing its going to be pretty cheap, so probably not worth paying for autotrader listing? Ebay classified perhaps?
Any advice appreciated!

Ebay with full description and loads of photos. Unfortunately the mileage may count against you as 40,000 over 12 years is low, but I am sure that you will have no problems selling it as they are great reliable cars.
£795 at a dealer with 80,000-

People who view AT are looking for cars, have a look on there and see what sort of asking prices they are up for, then list it as a similar private sale price.0

^ This.
Start it at a low price, no reserve, sit back and wait.0 -
Cheers, sounds like ebay is the one i should be taking a punt with.
Point taken about mileage, not too worried though as the vast majority of people see low mileage = good, regardless of the reality.0 -
Check the eBay listing fees carefully. eBay is a very expensive way to sell a cheap car, and you have the possible problem of non-paying bidders.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

This a pretty sought after older car. If it was in my family I think I would be trying to keep it in the family. Does no one want it?0

Nah, all the immediate family have newish cars, its a bit dated tbh
Will be very desirable to someone I'm sure, it feels bulletproof to drive, maybe a good minicab?0 -
Never had an issue with selling a car in ebay. One buyer didnt leave feedback for several months then said car was all good. And wanted me to leave them feedback.
Were they waiting for it to breakdown to leave me a negative? This was not even my car it was avdertised for a mate. And i had no part in the deal other than the auction on ebay for them.
Other than that all good. And decent prices.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -
No problems with eBay, but Gumtree is free.0
