The reason I opened a metro bank account in the first place was to be able to go abroad and withdraw.. especially in america..
Now that this facility has been taken away, is there any other card to use simply for withdrawals? The clarity? Although that charges too

The Clarity only charges interest on cash, which is trivial for a short holiday if you pay it off as soon as you get back. In fact it could even be cheaper than N&P as that is VISA, and Mastercard do seem to have better rates, at least when I last checked https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/41894330

Thank you!0 -
Even for longer trips, the interest on the Clarity can be pennies. We pay ours off while we are away as soon as possible after withdrawing cash.0

You need to pay £500 into the N and P account each month but there's nothing to stop you taking the money out again.0 -
Metro Bank will still be free in Europe, so the simplest solution is to change your travel preferences and holiday there instead.0

The simplest solution is to just pay the charges. Compared to the total cost of a holiday, they are likely to be insignificant.0 -

I have the N&P Gold Light account and have 5 standing orders of 1p paid in every month. Though it seems rather pointless as I forgot my PIN ages ago so just use my Halifax Clarity!Voyager2002 wrote: »Metro Bank will still be free in Europe, so the simplest solution is to change your travel preferences and holiday there instead.
It's sometimes difficult to tell on the internet, but you are joking aren't you!?0 -
Gold Light has been phased out for new customers. There is now Gold Start, which does have charges applied.
So Gold Classic only.0
