    Aye Carumba!!!

Old Monkeyballso only salsa's when he's standing still... When I'm walking it's like Day of the Dead ;) brains... brains... who has my brains?

Yup, I'm waiting for a letter to confirm all the F&F doobreys etc and then I'll pay up and then brag about it on the DMP Mutual Support thread ;) I don't want to post on there just yet in case it all falls through and I look like a wally LOL

So, I also just checked my dates and the Moneyshop has two weeks from tomorrow to get back to me with a response to my complaint! It's been 6 weeks... Doesn't time fly? Hmmm... I've spoken to them in the last week or so and they said it would be escalated LOL I wonder if escalation means they put it to the bottom of the pile? Oh well, at least I'll be able to go to the FOS with or without a reply :)

I also got a confirmation of receipt from Provident today. Weirdly, the info inside apologised for me feeling the need to complain and they hope to resolve the complaint within 5 working days??? Eh??? I'm assuming that's for more general stuff... Who knows, it sounds very optimistic to me!

Hi Catriona, welcome to the thread :) mi case es su casa x

All these positive replies sound very positive to me! Hopefully the Provi will send you a nice cheque in five days time!

Hi SSG, 5 days yes... I can see that happening... NOT ;) LOL

    Monday 14th of July

Very quick update as t'internet is being a pain :( today has been a good day as I've repaid a couple of small and one medium sized debts :) after discussing my options with Step Change they "advised" me that to keep things fair for my creditors I shouldn't pay anything but if a relative did it...

    So today, my brother "paid" the following;

    Barclays overdraft - £36.24
NCO - Arrow (on behalf of Very) - £21.16
    Wonga - £436.18 (settled at £300)

In total that's £493.58 off my total debts for just £357.40 :)

It's not huge numbers but it's 3x creditors off my list and a saving of £136.18 HURRAH!

More to follow soon when t'net is playing ball... Grrr...

LOL, we are a close family and technically he paid... Technically...

    Tuesday 15th of July

T'internet is still on the blink so I'm using my brothers PC (it's surprising hard to type while shuffling from side to side... doesn't bode well for work...) and need to be brief.

I just spoke to a lady at the Moneyshop to ask for an update on my complaint as it is fast approaching 8 weeks!

A response has been drafted and needs to be authorised before it is sent to me so obviously they can't tell me more than that.

I'd love to think that waiting to be "authorised" means a refund but I guess equally it could mean a letter telling me to bog off LOL time will tell and I'm happy to deal with either response ;)

In other news, I got a letter from Barclaycard telling me that the 12 month agreement is coming to an end and despite contacting SC they have heard nothing back in the last 2 months??? I know for a fact that's rubbish as SC sent them my new I&E form and have since received and accepted a payment... Hmmm... I called BC and the (admittedly pleasant enough) chap has put my account on hold for 30 days and I've spoken to SC who are going to re-send the details... Again!

Nothing I'm worried about, it'll fall into place one way or another :) Now I'm gonna have a quick skim through other posts before my bro kicks me off so he can play League of Legends :(

    Ciao!

....I like to think that "authorised" means someone high up has to sign a nice big cheque.........:D

    Hi SSG,

Yeah I'm quietly optimistic but as they say, it ain't over until the fat lady sings!

    Wednesday 16th of July

So, I've had a busy (and a little painful) morning as I had a bit to do today... I have a gym session this afternoon so I needed/wanted to do it this morning as this afternoon will be a write off!

    1) My self exclusion had run out in a few bookies so I went and re-added myself :) I'd like to think I'm strong enough but I'd also rather not find out that I'm not LOL it £5 to get some passport piccies but it's £5 to save £000's so it's a good deal in my books ;)

    2) Paid a whopper of a debt! My biggest, an old credit union loan so I'm now under £10k!!!!! £1500 paid to settle a debt of £2250ish :) I would feel bad and just paid the full amount owing if not for the fact that they've gone into liquidation so I don't feel like I'm letting them down...

    3) I bought some new bedding!!! I got a great deal as Debenhams have some really nice vintage inspired sets that are normally £48 but I got a set for £18 as it's the last one (although they are also selling a lot at 1/2 price if anyone is interested?) and I got a couple of flat sheets for £6 each :) so a duvet set with pillow cases and 2x flat sheets for just £30 :) baaaaargain ;) though the set is a little bit feminine with flowers and butterflies on it LOL

    4) I decided to "treat" myself to a MacDonalds meal deal... Quarter pounder with cheese, fries and milkshake :) mmmmmmmmmmmmmm right? WRONG! It was horrible, I'd forgotten that I don't eat them because they're horrible and not because of the price :( YUCK!!! £5.29 down the drain and I feel like I've drunk a litre of oil :( the gym will be fun... NOT

    Ciao for now

One more achievement for the day... Another debt gone!

Lucas Credit Services repaid, they accepted £95 for £267 :)

    This means that with the Cheque Centre refund I have;

    1. Paid off my Credit Union loan
    2. Paid off Wonga
    3. Paid off NCO
    4. Paid off Barclays o/d
    5. Paid off Lucas Credit Services
    6. Stashed £800 away in an emergency fund
    7. Bought bedding
    8. Given Mum some cash to treat herself with
    9. New socks!!!!
    10. Am awaiting new glasses :)
    11. Have stashed another £200 for the dentist when I can find an NHS one which isn't seemingly a butcher...
    12. Oh, and made a small overpayment of £19.19 to Barclaycard to make my balance a nice round £1735 :)

I now have a couple of hundred left to last me until the 24/25th when my ESA and pay hit my bank which (if I've not used for something else) may use to round my emergency fund up to £1k :)

So chuffed... I've spent a touch over £2k to settle almost £3.2k!!! Now to hear from Moneyshop and see what I can do if they offer me a refund ;)

*IMPORTANT* If anyone new to the world of DMP's is reading this, this is an example of how NOT to repay your DMP :( I'm only doing this as my income has dropped due to injury and I've since received a refund from a creditor for charges and fees... If I was working then I would just be sticking to the agreement so don't be tempted to try anything which might endanger your own plan!!!
