FREE calls to UK from anywhere if youre on O2

Hey everyone, first post!
I have a little known tip about an App that O2 has launched called TUGO. Its designed to be used when customers have poor coverage and works by using a WIFI connection to make and receive calls and text messages. One thing it doesn't do though, is distinguish where you are.
SO.
Install TUGO on your phone OR tablet (ANDROID or iOS) while in the UK. It will send you a text to your O2 mobile number to confirm set up. Type it into the app. Viola. When you're on wifi itll allow you to use that instead of the mobile network.
Why is this good?
Go to another country - switch off your mobile data and mobile signal. Keep wifi on. People can call you (on your phone number) from the UK and text you. You can do the same to people in the UK. All while using your inclusive contract allowance. NO COST.
To sum up. You need:
Android or iOS device - phone or tablet
O2 Monthly Contract
TUGO - Free app from play store or app store
Wifi Connection

Why is this better than skype? ITS YOUR NUMBER and the caller doesn't need any kind of app etc - neither does the person you are calling in the uk. Only you need it installed. (Also Skype isn't free when dialing numbers - only free to others using skype)
Enjoy your free calls to/from the UK

Been using a similar SmartTalk app from BT that allows you to ring using your home phone calling plan for some time now.
It works well and saved a fortune when ringing airline call centres etc.0 -
Fine when you're in range of a freely-accessible wifi signal, utterly useless the remaining 99% of the time.0

99%?
We tend to book accommodation with wifi or stay with friends and family so equipped. I'd estimate that most days we are in range of freely-accessible wifi for at least 40-50% of the time. As we both possess basic time management skills, we haven't found it particularly difficult to make make full use of the BT SmartTalk application to keep overseas phone charges to a bare minimum.0 -
Virgin media do a similar app too.. it only works for outgoing calls though
Personally, i've found TuGo useless in the UK, but ok whilst on holiday0 -

Cannot comment on other countries but in Turkey walking down the main street in Hisaronou, usually pick up about 20 or more free WiFi signals, go in and have a drink and they will give you the password. Most of the hotels have free WiFi also. They never appear to change the passwords either as they still work next year
Even in The Gambia WiFi is readily available in the tourist areas0 -
Does anyone know if this works with Tesco who I am told use the O2 network?0
