Is this too good to be true ??
I've been with 3 for about 2 years and spend approx £ 45-50 a month with them. A few weeks back I decided I wanted the Nokia N95 so cancelled my contract with 3 and moved onto Orange.
My contract with 3 will expire in 4 days time but today I get a call from 3 inviting me to accept a "good will offer" of 500 mins per month cross network calls PLUS 100 txt messages FREE OF ANY CHARGE for 18 months with the only proviso being that on my 18th month I will get a bill for £ 18. As I'm a naturally suspicious person I immediately said NO ! :rotfl:
Then I started to try and break the offer down to see where the catch is but as far as I can see there isn't one.
Has anyone else come across this before and if so what's the catch ?

I have heard there are a lot of con-artists who call people near contract end pretending to be the network when they aren't. If it were me, I'd call them rather than them calling you and ask them to confirm all the details/t&c in writing asap! Then you would be on safer and more informed ground? I could get a free deal from cpw O2 where they PAY a credit of £300 into my account, then bill me £25 every month so I don't actually pay or have to even claom cashbacks as I usually do; all my deals cost me zilch and I make a profit so stopped dismissing ridiculous sounding deals altogether. However, there are also a lot of liars out there!0

3 made me a similar offer last November, so I have a 12 month contract with 100 mins and 100 texts per month, which costs me about £5 for the year. There's no catch, It's just that 3 do not have to give you a new phone.

When I came to the end of my "3" contract I told them to cancel it. They then tried to sign me up for a new phone and 500 mins - 6 months free and then £30 for 6 months. I told them to still cancel it. They then said if I didn't need a phone I could have 500 mins and 100 txts for 11.5 months free and I just pay £15 in month 12. After I made them go over it a few times more, I signed up for it as it works out a hell of a lot cheaper than PAYG.
All they do is credit your phone account with the money and then take it back each month. As long as you don't go over your free mins and txts, you really cant lose. :j
