They could make your supply shipperless, then after 12 months grid will bill you at their rates or cut you off.Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

I don't get people that say it's ok, just calculate and put away money, don't worry.
Yes I am capable and do. But I am not meant to be, they are, it's what they should be doing to earn their share of supplying energy. Also, I shouldn't have to be on monthly watch to see if they get it right and don't extract too much money........wrong in principle and possibly creating bank issues if one was near limits (mine aren't, but it's a principle)
Also, the historical use data is there and clear, and yet they wildly over estimate. Not just npower, first utility tried it on......if I miss putting a meter read in they estimate 3 times my usage. I tried in vain to get them to not do this......I can only conclude they are happy and they know it and are happy to do this to customers.
(this also means I have to submit readings exactly on the last day of each month, or they'll wrongly estimate days even. No big bother, but why?!!!)
Also, attempting to sort is nigh on impossible........as others say complaints don't get through.....mine still pending over year after.
Also, during alot of this some customer service personnel deny issues and make claims that you are wrong and treat one like a criminal.
So, here am I a competent person who can make calculations and chase up and sort (well try to!!!) What really concerns me is that there must be many who aren't who are being fleeced, and it is why I set up the petition. I worry that some people are being taken advantage of and no-one is doing anything about it.

If you choose to be billed quarterly then you've got to save the money for three months, so saving it for two or three quarters shouldn't really be anymore onerous. If you use energy then it's got to be paid for and you should know yourself roughly how much it should be.
Regarding estimates versus actuals - I you keep an eye on your consumption and submit meter reading then hopefully you won't get estimated bills. If you don't and they over or under estimate then get it changed before you ramp up a big credit or debit.
I'd agree that some of their estimates are very wide of the mark but that's where you as the customer should take charge and make sure they put it right. Especially now that they all seem to be useless and incompetent. It's frustrating, time consuming and shouldn't be necessary but if you don't check what's happening with your money then you've got no one to blame but yourself.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0
