Meal Plan Thread WB 13th January 2014

    Next weeks plan will be.
    Sunday-Toad in the hole with mash and vegetables
    Monday-Meatballs in spicy tomato sauce with vegetables
    Tuesday-Spicy turkey wraps
    Wednesday-Homemade chilli beef with prawn toast and samosas
    Thursday-Turkey curry with turmeric rice
    Friday-Homemade pizza Payday:j
    Saturday-Sausage, egg and hash browns

    Breakfasts will be toast, muesli or cornflakes.
    Snacks will be fruit, homemade yoghurt or biscuits.
    Lunches will be quiche or soups.

    I have everything already in the house so I am hoping to just buy milk, pop and fruit for the week :)

  • Can I quickly list my meals for the end of this week and next week here please?
    I'm trying to not buy any more food until pay day a week Monday and I'll relist next week but would like to just start a bit of planning.

    Friday:
    L: Lentil dahl and Rice
    D: Fishcakes and veg or chicken pie and veg (left overs)
    Saturday:
    L: Toasted sandwiches and salad
    D: Lasagne and salad
    Sunday:
    L:Roast chicken etc.
    D:Crumpets or beans on toast
    Monday:
    L: Miso soup and edemame (meatballs and pasta for kids)
    D:baked beans on toast or Jackets with cheese
    Tuesday:
    D:hamburgers, chips veg
    Wednesday
    D: beef stew, polenta and veg.
    Thursday
    L; Lentil dhal and rice
    D: Chili and wraps.
    Friday
    L: carrot and lentil soup
    D: Risotto or fried rice.

    Looks like we might be able to manage to stretch the store cupboards a bit.

    Chicken Jambalaya for dinner tonight - Definitly a firm favourite here! Even my 2 year old eats loads of it!!! Thought I'd share :)

  • We love it, and it's a great way to use leftover chicken. I got the recipe from this board! Definitly a firm favourite! Hence having it twice in a week :/

    Only I use frozen mixed peppers (2 pepoers worth)
    100g Chrizio
    200g leftover Chicken
    300g Rice
    And a lot of extra water...

    Taste great with King Prawns if you're feeling rich :)

  • Mon - Smoked salmon & pancetta hash with poached egg/tomatoes
    Tues - Roast chicken legs, mash, veg & gravy
    Weds - Pesto & philly pasta with walnuts and mushrooms
    Thurs - Sweet chilli chicken and rice
    Fri - Tuna & spinach pasta bake
    Sat -YS smoked haddock chowder
    Sun - Pork enchiladas

    OH made cherry flapjacks at the weekend so they'll be good for breakfasts and snacks, I'm also trying to swap my bottle of chocolate Baileys from Xmas to water, it just doesn't taste the same! :(

    Had a bit of a change-around so this week was as follows

    Mon - Tuna & spinach pasta bake
    Tues - Roast chicken legs, mash, veg & gravy
    Weds - Pesto & philly pasta with walnuts and mushrooms
    Thurs - Sweet chilli chicken and rice
    Fri – Ham & cheese toasties
    Sat – HM Spinach curry w/ naan bread, onion bhajis , poppadoms and YS mango chutney
    Sun - Smoked salmon & pancetta hash with poached egg/tomatoes
