    Well it seems very clear to me on the front page of their website http://www.tescobank.com/insurance/carins/index.html the 5000 points is a monthly draw you get entered into. 5000 points is £500, if they really were giving that much away for each new customer it would have been plastered all over MSE.



    I thought it was 1 point = 1p, ie 5000 points is £50 at the basic level?

    Ah yeah you're right! Even so it's clear on the front of their website the offer is a monthly draw for 5000 points.

    You don't always have to ditch the company you are with, but I do always do a quote as a new customer on comparison sites each year.

    Same with lot's of things, the AA is another one that jumps out.

    I pretty much flick between AXA and Aviva every year now. Changing is the only way to get a decent(er) price.
