You cant switch from one Halifax to another, plus I use that account to earn £5 per month...I'm considering this, I have a semi-dormant account I hardly use (only for odd transfers once in a while) that I could transfer to Halifax.
What else could be assumed from your post?0 -

Your assumption is correct, account held elsewhere.
We may have crossed wires, do you mean switch to my existing reward account from the elsewhere account? Is that possible on an already functioning account with Halifax?Mortgage Free Wannabe Light Bulb Moment (Early 2012, started May 2012)

I have now withdrawn £100 should i complain to them about their complete lack of communication and service or just leave the account dormant?
Any attempt by them to reclaim £100 i would contest and take to the ombudsman if necessary.
According to their Ts & Cs of the offer at http://www.halifax.co.uk/bankaccounts/ they claim the right to claw the £100 back if you don't complete the switch:To qualify for the £100 switching offer (“the offer”) you must use the Halifax ‘Current Account Switch Service’ and meet the following conditions:
• Use the Halifax ‘Current Account Switch Service’, to switch into a new or existing Halifax Current Account, Reward Current Account or Ultimate Reward Current Account (“your account”)
• Use the Halifax ‘Current Account Switch Service’ to transfer all your credits, debits and close your active bank account that you hold with another bank
[...]
2. If you do not meet the conditions of the offer we may claim back the £100. We will do this by debiting £100 from your account. We may also start to charge you daily fees that we had previously waived under this offer for using the overdraft.
So, if you (not unreasonably) contend that it's their fault that the switch hasn't happened it would be worth putting that to them in writing, just to get it on the record in case they tried to claim it back.0 -

YorkshireBoy wrote: »You may have. I was connected properly. ;)That's what I said earlier. The very first sentence of the advertisement on their website says...So just set up a couple of SOs or a bill payment or two (although I'd suggest the former would look better, and is what I did to bag the £100 as an existing customer) on the old account and grab your free £100!
However the T&Cs don't specify that you need 2 DDs/SOs to get the £100 (as a new customer) anymore!0
