Second halifax problem in first week with them, switch not progressing lots of phone calls and lots of time 'on hold'
Question i have new account with £100 bribe in it, can i take £100 and leave the switch unfinished?
If i do the above would the Halifax have any claim to get it back?

My switch to Halifax seems to have gone seamlessly. When did you get the £100? I opened the account online before Christmas but delayed the switch in case of problems and have yet to see the £100 credit. Will phone on Monday if still nothing but just wondered if this was unusual?0

I wouldn't recommend just taking the £100, you stand a chance of them removing it later (as the switch wasn't complete) and making you overdrawn!0

As it was a joint account we opened 'in branch' the lady put £100 in our account before we left the room.0

Hi, My mum transferred her Nationwide account to Halifax. The transfer was completed on Friday 10th. All DDs was showing on her Hfx account and now Nationwide account has been closed.
She us still waiting £100. How long does it take? Transfer request was done online.
Thanks

Usually within a week of the transfer date, but sometimes they do take a little longer.0 -
Mine took over a week. I chased it and they said it hadn't tracked properly and credited me with a further £10 for the inconvenience.0

My switch to Halifax is due to complete on 14/01/14 - How long did you wait before you chased it up?

So my Halifax saga continues, 2nd switch date been and gone and not a dickie bird from Halifax, no emails, texts, letters or phone calls and of course no switch.
I have now withdrawn £100 should i complain to them about their complete lack of communication and service or just leave the account dormant?
Any attempt by them to reclaim £100 i would contest and take to the ombudsman if necessary.0 -
I'm considering this, I have a semi-dormant account I hardly use (only for odd transfers once in a while) that I could transfer to Halifax. Are there any restrictions on using the new account or could I switch, keeping the new Halifax a semi dormant account and get the £100?
