Firstly, I have been with Orange approx 11 years on contract. I quite like the HTC 1. So I thought would there be another company that could give me a good deal on it. Before I asked Orange.

I spotted a good deal with Dialaphone for the HTC, It was £21.99 a month and no upfront costs and more than enough minutes for me.

So did the application online, this morning I had an email could I ring them slight problem. So I rang was told could I give the mobile number for the Orange I have already,as there wouldn't have to be a credit check..

Did this and then checked another email "sorry can't put the order through"

I rang Orange explained and they said my history is perfect with them and I can have the HTC with 4g but they couldn't match the Dialaphone offer.

I rang Dialaphone back and he said oh we did a credit check? Check Equifax but have done that and no sign of a search?

Can I ask when you do an online application, does a person at Dialaphone then re-enter the details to forward to Orange?

Oh the advisor at Dialaphone said they hadn't got to the point of taking a £1 off my card.is that used for id purposes?

Anyone know their procedures please?
I have recently got a good credit card deal with a prime lender and I know that means a higher pass level than a mobile phone.

You should have asked Orange if they will allow you more contracts. I've found I can have virtually as many as I want with this network, but it will be different for each person. If they say yes, you're in a much better position to speak with the dealer and find out why THEY won't process the order since Orange are quite happy to give you another contract.

Thanks for your response, yes rang Orange sales and I can add more lines and the HTC. They wouldn't price match with Dialaphone though. The Orange advisor said I could have it on their EE tariff and 4g.

Anyway, I found an almost identical deal with another company Buymobiles only difference it's with T mobile. It was approved immediately.

Just an update had an email and the phone is due to be with me for Monday 13th;) I think Dialaphone messed the order up.
  • Glad you got it sorted. Some of the renewal deals direct with the networks are terrible, I'm due for an upgrade soon and the offers they have don't look pretty.
