Iphone 4s volume bar keeps dissappear

This problem has started since last month, volume bar disappears by itself and i can't hear anything from the speakers unless calls and imessages, other than that it only vibrates. This problem is on and off and really annoying as i only can hear from earphones.
any idea what the problem is?

Have you got it in silent mode?
    1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
    2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
    3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?

Check the dock connector, if something is shorting the pins it may think it's docked and is sending the sound to the dock that's not there...

If you can dock it or plug in the charging cable, and sound comes out of the dock, you may find when you unlock it it will work for a few moments then the shorting happens and it thinks its re-docked..

Common and well known fault with the IPhone 4s.

Its a faulty docking port as a previous person suggested. It tends to be caused by people using fake charger cables. Find your proper original cable.

Allow your phone to fully discharge and shut down.

Then recharge it to 100% using the original cable.

It might come back to you and work fine. It not then you need to change the docking port. The part is about a tenner. It'll cost you about £40 if you send it to a repair specialist. OR have a go yourself
