Absolutely garbage these days, I bought a twix for the first time recently and when I opened it I thought I'd bought a dodgy batch. The fingers were about a third shorter than last time I bought one, which wasn't that long ago.
I'd already stopped eating Mars bars since they changed the recipe, they now taste uninspiring and kind of dry.
So all in all I have given up on Mars now completely, I won't eat Cadbury either since they got bought out by Kraft.
I complained to Mars, this is what they had to say
I can see them losing much custom over their above stated company strategy. I am pretty certain at some point in the near future we will see an old recipe campaign by the Mars PR machine.

Dear Michael,
Thank you for getting in touch. As you're aware, we have recently reduced the weight of our standard Twix bar from 58g to 50g. The reason for this is that we have made a global pledge to ensure that all of our single-serve chocolate products would contain no more than 250 calories per portion by the end of 2013. This is part of our commitment to promote responsible consumption, and as a signatory of the Department of Health's Responsibility Deal calorie reduction programme.
You may know that this is the latest in a series of commitments that Mars has made to ensure that our products allow responsible consumption: we have already removed artificial trans fats from our products and reduced the levels of Saturated Fat in our Mars, Snickers, Topic and Milky way bars by 15%.
Yours Sincerely,
Greg Devine
Consumer Care Team

I got the same reply by the way when I asked. I now buy Lidl's own. Cheaper and bigger and have more caramel, like twix used to be!0 -
There are lots of government plans to reduce fats, salts and sugar consumption in the uk. Many other companies are folloeing these guidlines as well.
Most companies do not want to make the front page of the dailymail so they are signing up to the guidlines.
Mars are not the only company doing this.
While products may not eat as well, they should be healthier based on the government guidlines.
Now I do not agree with all the government guidlines, that is a different debatethough.0 -

At the end of the day, nobody buys a chocolate bar because it is healthy. And most people only eat them as a treat. Are we going to have callorie limits on take away food too?
How about the so called breakfast bars that contain more sugar and calories than a mars bar?
I do not need social engineering thank you.0 -

Hmmm...
You may not think you need social engineering, but your Government, who you helped to elect, whether you voted or not, thinks you do.0 -

No... the government, who the population elected, thinks the population does. That has absolutely no bearing on anyone as an individual.Cashback / Freebie Sites I Use:

I didn't vote, but even if I had it wouldn't make a difference. It is the Civil Servants who are doing most of the work on this, who stay no matter what Government is elected.0 -
