I would make sure the battery is OK, and read the wiki.
The reset sequence there is:-- Hard reset sequence: Press VoiceDial button + comms manager button + soft reset. You will get a screen with 3 colored bars; at this screen, press the D-Pad UP. (some other version will display a message saying to restore to factory default settings, press the 'Send' button. In this case, press your 'Send'/'Call' button).
The Wiki also has instructions for recovering a bricked device, but you almost certainly haven't done that.
