Morning all,
damp and grey here, maybe it will pick up as it was glorious yesterday.
My plans for today - encourage DH to make the phonecalls he has been putting off doing. To do this I shall do the jobs I don't want to do and, if needs be, hide his tablet so he can't sit playing a bubble shooting game for 5 hours in silence (yes, I am mean but only when driven to it.)
Dinner is something chicken from my batch cooked mountain in the freezer.
Off to iron whilst sighing heavily, then I must sort out the old receipts whilst muttering - this will drive him into the other room where the phone and the relevant numbers are conveniently and prominently situated......:TI can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Good morning everyone, it's a bit fresh this morning :snow_laug
DD had to leave for school early, as she's involved in an elite athlete programme, made her lunch - ham rolls, cereal bar and a bottle of water.
Treated myself to a carpet shampoo-er and tackled DD's room last night whilst she was at hockey training - my my the dirty water was disgusting  Still she has a nice clean carpet now
Working today, must remember to pick up some jacket potatoes from the market stall on my way home (is it just me or are supermarket jacket potatoes tiny?)
Weekend will consist of washing/ironing/cleaning/hockey match/driving lesson
Dinner tonight will be rosemary chicken and polenta, and a couple of glasses of wine
Happy Friday everyone!Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)0 -
Morning all,
Hope you are all well.It was a bit frosty here too.I've only done a quick walk with the pup as she was biting at her foot last night and when she let me look there is an abrasion on the back pad.The trouble is the mud is so thick she could have stood on anything and I've not realised.I'll check it again this afternoon before we go out again.
I think I'm going to go out shortly to town to spend my marks voucher DS & OH got me,I could do with a new nightie or pjs.I havent been out at all this week apart from dogwalking so 4 NSDs.Just a bit of tidying to be ready for tomorrows viewers.Heard back from Wednesdays, they like it but are carrying on looking at a few more before deciding.I've been looking at properties online and there isnt much that we fancy really,I s'pose if all else fails we'll get something that needs work done that DH can do and we can always move again but at least we'll have sold this house which is far too big for us now .
Not decided what's for tea yet, could be omelettes as my neighbour is getting my eggs from the farm later-a tray of 30 large.
Ok enjoy your days,& I agree we all need to be pleasant to each other- I like nice manners too.The couple who viewed on Wed. said it seems very friendly round here, they'd had a bit of a walk and people had said hello to them:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. Good morning,
Welcome bluesky, love the name.
What a lovely sunny day to wake up to. Not long been up as i didn't set my alarm, so all i have done thus far is put a loaf on in the breadmaker.
Need to get going shortly as i need to catch up with getting the house ready for the weekend.
Also, need to add up my grocery spends for yesterday, and i also need to remember to get some chicken out the freezer.
Essex girl. I hope you and your son get on ok this morning, i feel for him.

Happy Friday. Almost the weekend
My rant of the day - bin men didnt bother emptying my bin yesterday - put out correctly. They missed one a few weeks ago (main rubbish bin) and I had to leave it out for another few days till a special van came for it.
This time its the paper/cardboard recycling. I wonder if they send the special collection van again whether it will be recycled or just land filled with other arranged/missed/additional collections in the area....GC Jan £431.490/£480.00  £48.51 under budget!0 -
Good Morning and welcome bluesky I agree I hate rudeness and I am the original grumpy old woman
:):) not really, I am not middle aged more, cranky old biddy but I try to be as cheery as I can I too live in the south-east, now in north Kent, but I am an eastender by birth and inclination, so I talk to anyone .
I am lucky where I live its quite a friendly place and not very big,but I suppose you could say it was either a very small town or a largish village, but after the shops shut there's barley a soul around .When we moved here 19 years ago after downsizing from London my late OH said 'Oh good 6 pubs and one church sounds about the right ratio'
But everyone will say good morning when you walk to the shops which is nice, and the lasses in the small shopping precinct will also say good morning and smile. Theres only about 2 dozen shops in there so they soon get to know the regular faces.
I must admit though when I have been to visit my nephew iin Lancashire the friendliness of the folk was very nice and everyone knew who I was the minute I opened my mouth:):) He is the local vicar and total strangers said 'Oh your Rev Hughies Auntie from London aren't you '
I hope you'll find us chatty on here anyhow.I too like good manners and courtesy.
Well I have done my first food shop of the year and was very good and didn't over spend.Got a few bargains which was quite pleasing, but mainly I am using up my food stores in the cupboard and f/freezer first.
DD got a nice suprise yesterday ,she got a leased car just before Christmas from Vauxhalls and they have sent her a £500.00 card to use either on fuel or on food/clothes .Came in very handy as she said she will stock her cupboards up and the freezer which looked a bit bare after Christmas.
History club starts back this afternoon so I'm quite looking forward to that.
Right time for a coffee I think.
Have a good day everyone whatever you are doing. bright and sunny here at the moment but I believe there is more of the wet stuff on the way tomorrow I have managed to get my washing damp dry on the line at least its had a bit of a blow
Cheers chums keep warm and dry if you can

Hi everyone,
A late start for me today, I'm having a bit of a flare up and have been very sore and achey.
I must get on and put the gammon shanks and peas in the slow cooker and I want to bake a loaf of bread as well. That might be all I manage today.0 -
Morning
Bit chillier than of late
Poor Luna was poorly last night and managed to puke over DDs bed and all over her floor :eek: thank heavens that was laminate.
Friend who I walk with each day her dog has been sick so it's either a tummy bug or maybe pesticides leeching off the fields next to where we walk and in the water and mud. Anyway she's better this morning and begging for her breakfast so hopefully that's the last of it.
Housework and ironing today. Just necking a coffee before I crack on.
DS told me to go f*^k myself this morning. He's 8 :eek::eek:
He told me he heard it on film but we don't watch stuff like that with kids around so heavens knows. I do love his endless strops
Fasting today so not sure what I shall do for tea.
Kids will have fish fingers and chips so nice and easy. Fridays are always busy as we have swimming lessons straight after school.
I didn't sleep great but I did set my alarm to go out and see if I could see the aurora last night. Long shot so far south but I am an optimist lol
Hugs and spoons all round. Sleepy vibes for those of you that need them xx
Essexgirl kick some butt lovey, hope that horrible teacher gets sorted out once and for all xx I agree with RR about his anxiety about being sick. If he's feeling that bad about going back to school it's going to make his anxiety about being sick worse. Poor ladhugs for you and him too xxx
