There is a big difference between the kitchen spammers and the spambots that have been posting the black magic crap, both as bad as each other but the bots can flood the boards in a few minutes with a post every 30 seconds.

The Indian spammer's back. Just realised that if someone has reported it before you, SPAM appears in the post header, so if you report as well, it should be removed.

As far as I'm aware the only time that spam appears in the post header is if you have clicked the button yourself and it only shows for you, the spam button also changes to 'Not Spam'.

It might be interesting if the 'thread status' icon could change to a 'spam' icon after someone clicks on the spam button - perhaps with a little number superimposed on it to show how many people consider it to be spam.

RESTRICT NEW MEMBERS TO ONE POST.......

I know it will be a busy job to vet all 1st posts but restricting them to one post per IP. Does the forum software allow limits per IP range?

Only x amount of new members per IP range out of hours?
